Best answer

i think the Meteor also deserves its own post as the primary long range weaponry of the 3 Eurocanards but I haven't really looked into that too much yet so I'm lacking sources.

@MBDA_Meteor  do you have any to share?

so i was just doing some research and saw that, according to the Bundeswehr, the GBU-54 is only *planned* to be used by the Eurofighter.

I won't edit the post though because there are pictures of a serial production Eurofighter with the GBU-54

What are those red things over the jet? Not referring to the air intake cover.

Some interviewed pilots say its around 25°

Possibly, but it was definitely not at the last AMK, where the AoA kind of reached 34 degrees.
Modified model ID sort of like 98-07(IPA7(8))
This modification is not on all Typhoons,  in 2020 there was an interview with one of the pilots with this AMK, the reviews about this modification were extremely flattering)

that modification is not fielded on any Eurofighter.

and that manual that you're referring to is from 2004 which is before the AMK was even tested so yes its definitely without it.

sidenote: idk if that manual is declassified...

It's a shame we're supposed to wait for a whole new generation to get a good fighter...

Germany can still get the Mig-29A,G and F4F ICE... I know it's not a Typhoon but still.

https://www.sto.nato.int/publications/STO Meeting Proceedings/STO-MP-AVT-307/MP-AVT-307-19.pdf here is an unclassified(!!!!!, here is proof of that STO-MP-AVT-307 (nato.int) ) paper by NATO discussing the "Challanges & Needs for the Understanding of Combat Aircraft Aerodynamics"

It discusses the Aerodynamic Modification Kit for the Eurofighter from an aerodynamic point of view. EFEM stands for EuroFighter Enhanced Maneuverability in case you dont know.

Thinking about making a post for the IRIS-T :ready:

Be a bit more generous, 35Gs and 33 degrees of gimbal range, but they C&P the R60 seeker onto it so it goes for any flare within a mile radius

I'll compile some sources later.

It's not going to be easy though

Best to get started early no?

Yes. The issue is that I have exams very soon so I'll have to prepare for those, greatly reducing the time I can spend on stuff like this

Well focus on those first! We're at least 2 years out from hearing any hint of the IRIS-T

yeah it was announced last year.

And here's something interesting:

the reheat lightup time on the Eurofighter is incredibly short.

just look at this display here at around 0:55
