SiamSmile@psn 35 Report post Posted January 18, 2023 In the last few days I turned on my play station to play a game of War Thunder, only to be delayed when I encountered an update. on the surface, I get it, it is good. Love new stuff and bug fixes. The problem is, no matter how small the update, the PS4 enters a 'copy' phase that seems like an hour at least. Please, limit the frequency of this. I noticed this before and was tempted to write such a post. Now, it has ruined my evening. Just stop and think about the impact of lots of small updates. If you really have to do, it least have set days and time, you know, maintenance windows, so we can plan around it. Thanks
GhostSoph@psn 2,213 Report post Posted January 18, 2023 I would guess all games on all players must be on same version for game to play...so you can't delay your update and still play, at least this is how must games work. Some (usually not real time games) allow a small difference in versions...but it is rare. I am on PSN so i understand your issue (also guess updates are faster and smoother on PC)...BUT i gained a "routine" of turning on the PS4 in the mornings i know i will play WT...it will update while i make breakfast and coffee... After a few times you will do it "automatically"...and eventually get a weird look from the wife
Rhino-1938@psn 807 Report post Posted January 20, 2023 You can leave your ps in 'Rest Mode" and it will automatically do downloads when you not using it
