OddPhenomena 1,015 Report post Posted January 19, 2023 I wanted to start a thread, and possibly discussion, about giving this vehicle some better ammunition. I've heard that China license produced the Belgian M1000A1 APFSDS round, which was used on export vehicles such as the Type 69-IIA. Could this possibly be added? I note this as we recently (as of this thread) had the addition of the Finnish T-55M, equipped with this exact round. This would help the Type 69-IIA be more appealing to someone wanting to buy it, but would also give it some extra punch and help fill out a role as one of China's last 100mm armed tanks. I'm hoping that with this, we can gather enough sources and material to put together a historical report / suggestion and improve the Type 69-IIA. Thank you for any help or information.
不是很能抗压 1,265 Report post Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) 69IIA was never equipped by PLA, but by multiple foreign customers, Gaijin used this as a reason to cancel 3BM25. I don't even know what shell they are willing to give to 69IIA. Edited January 19, 2023 by Zero_Seeker
不是很能抗压 1,265 Report post Posted January 19, 2023 (edited) Ok, back to the topic, China license produced the Belgian M1000A1 APFSDS round is exist, but it is too powerful in 8.0, the t55m with M1000A1 is in 8.3 and they are similar in many aspect, Chinese 8.3 is so crowd. But, it is a premium vehicle, so it can be op and it is still weaker than 69IIG even with the M1000A1 and can be in 8.0, so why not add it? Here is the source of M1000A1 China version: https://www.armscom.net/products/100mm_tk_apfsds_t_m1000a1 https://arca.live/b/apfsdscharts/46163362 And, there also another choice which maybe more suitable, the export APFSDS of 69II, I think it similar to 3mb25 or it actually a 3bm25 Chinese version, the have similar speed and weight. There's still the XM8 that uses C76A1, yet we never used that specific round, and the XM8 itself wasn't originally intended for export. 12 hours ago, Zero_Seeker said: Ok, back to the topic, China license produced the Belgian M1000A1 APFSDS round is exist, but it is too powerful in 8.0, the t55m with M1000A1 is in 8.3 and they are similar in many aspect, Chinese 8.3 is so crowd. Thank you for this! I'm going to look through some old links I found during the days when the PTL02 didn't have DYW PT86-100. We did it for the PTL02, we can do it for the 69-IIA. Hopefully we can get a historical report or bring this to Gaijin's attention somehow soon enough. I might add this in to my battle rating changes feedback reply. I'm fine if the Type 69-IIA has to be moved up to 8.3, though you're right that it is kind of bloated. This might build a bit more of a case for its addition.

BrutishOrc 114 Report post Posted February 1, 2023 I thought they'd just make it an Iraqi one which would explain how/why it would get soviet ammo but no.
