Dr_Garlics@psn 4 Report post Posted February 6, 2023 (edited) Problem: War Thunder mac version does not recognize the X or Y axis on the Logitech X56 RHINO joystick. I have tested it, and the joystick works perfectly on the PC. In addition, the joystick also works perfectly with X-Plane 12 on the mac version, which is released recently (September 6, 2022). Therefore, the mac does support the Logitech X56 joystick. And I have the same description as this. The explanation and solution(outdated) I found are from this post: https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/444036-fixed-getting-x55-x56-and-others-with-screwed-up-axis-to-work-on-mac/ Explanation: the X-56 sends crazy values to the client that it can not understand. It's because the signal coming from the Logitech X56 joystick is a 16-bit integer of -32768 to + 32767 (65536 numbers). I guess the resolution is too sensitive, so the value is too high to be understood by the client. Solution(outdated): use a third-party app called ControllerMate to fix the axis calibration, giving normal values that War Thunder understands. I can confirm this solution works fine with my old version of mac. However, due to the update of the Mac version. The kernel extensions of MacOS have been deprecated. Details are over here: https://developer.apple.com/support/kernel-extensions/ And the third-party ControllerMate relies on this and needs to install a driver to make it work. Therefore, this solution is not working for the latest macOS. I did a lot of research and browsed so many websites, contacted support from Logitech, and did everything I could to help the dev team to locate the problem and help to find the solution. But it needs to be heard by the dev team. I also filed a bug report over here: https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/9wHrzrpzt8KI Please fix this problem. Kant_Lu 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2023 Hello, there is a way to use Joystick in the Mac version of War Thunder, using the controller layout provided by Steam itself. If you have browsed the control setting wizard in the game, you will find that for the Mac version of Thunder, the official only provides keyboard and mouse control presets, but for the Windows version, there are many presets. This shows that they found the problem, but just hid it. My workaround is: Download Warthunder on the official website and add it to your Steam library as a non-Steam game. Or open Steam in the background while running the game. This allows you to control some of the in-game commands using Steam's controller layout. I'm using an Xbox Joystick, the left and right sticks perfectly control the direction and field of view, and the other buttons can be used to fire, open the scope, chat, check the rankings. But more instructions can't find a counterpart. Unfortunately, this control comes from outside the game, so it doesn't seem to be possible to customize it further.
