Radar changes? Unable to lock manually and "automatically"

I have complete rewrote this threat, as I have "advanced" in a way. I have tried to figure out what is wrong and found something interesting:

Normally, the radar locks on to an enemy by placing the contact within the two vertical lines on the radar, as can be seen in this YT video at ~9:27 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqroJ68MXwI)

 

For it doesn't work (anymore) and I guess, that's happened after I unlocked the F14 and changed my controls. I need to lock an enemy always manually, by guiding the two vertical lines across the enemy radar blip in order to get a lock.

This seems to have started after I changed my controls to move the vertical lines to lock on for my Phoenix missiles.

Found it!!!!

I have set "Target cyclic switching of aircraft radar" to "no". Then you run into the same difficulties as myself.
