Kerbalizer_K3R8 1 Report post Posted May 13, 2023 So it's already confirmed that the PTL02 is being moved to rank VI... but I want to know a little more. See, I'm currently grinding out the Chinese ground forces tech tree, and right now (at the time of posting) I have 3 vehicles unlocked in rank V. I need 5 vehicles to unlock rank VI. Now if the PTL02 is being moved up, it's going to be one less vehicle in rank V, and I'll have 2 vehicles unlocked. Now question is - is unlocking a rank permanent? I probably can get both the Type 59 and Type 69 before the next update drops, at least I hope so. If I do unlock them, and have 5/5 vehicles in rank V, but then the PTL will be moved up, will I have rank VI unlocked? Like if I already unlocked it will I loose it? Or, at least, is the CM25 going to be lower ranked? I don't have the Taiwanese branch researched, at least not rank IV and V, so I really hope that either the CM and PTL switch places or that ranks unlock permanently, because I don't want to have to grind out a few ranks of the Taiwanese stuff. I really want to get the AFT09 and I don't know what to do. Should I just focus on China GF and rush the 59 and 69? Or will my effort be wasted and I will have to get the Taiwanese tanks in the end?

I think it is Spoiler pretty sure you need more than 4 vehicles in Rank IV USSR to get the IS-3, the rest of the rank is unlocked as well Edited May 13, 2023 by llSolitairell@psn

You need 6 vehicles in rank IV to unlock rank V in USSR, so I guess as long as I manage to get the Type 69 in time - I can make it and get the AFT without grinding out the lame Taiwanese tanks

What the xxxx they were thinking? Well it does make sense for them to switch places, also it is rather awkward to have a higher BR vehicle available first. Not a big deal really, you'll grind through all of them anyways and CM25 is a funny piece of junk

But honestly i've been working hard for the PTL just to gaijin tell me go "xxxx yourself" and then put another two vehicles to be researched before i get it. Despite making sense them switching, it still xxxx xxxx.
