May 2023 Economic Changes Summary and Findings (With Excel Sheet!)

We have heard You!

Dear players!

The recently proposed economy changes, according to calculations, were on average helpful to players as they reduced the repair costs, and the total amount of Research Points for most vehicles. We wrote more about this in our answers to your questions on the 12th of May and the overall picture is clearly visible in the table sheet with changes. We have been following the feedback closely and we see that whilst some players generally agree with us, we also see that there are players who feel that these changes are not helpful to them. For this reason, we have decided not to implement the economy changes from the 16th of May.

We believe that the game and its changes should create positive emotions and that players’ emotions are more important to us than calculations and numbers. In the future we will try to better explain our actions, and their benefits for players and also encourage you to leave constructive requests and questions in the special form.

This is still not enough. There needs to be a 30-50% reduction in repair costs across the board.

A simple kneejerk reaction doesn't solve the core issue. We must continue to speak out about any issues.

Maybe now y'all can come up with an actual good economy strategy that doesn't involve crippling SL rewards and at the same time doesn't make certain vehicles unplayable due to repair cost.

First  We have heard You! from the devs  that i've seen in over 10 years.

And why are people congratulating them as if they did it from their own hearts ?

They only did if after the backlash, if they had the "community intentions" in mind, they wouldnt have giving us the option of bad vs bad like dev words : "Players also voted for earning less when you win "

the new battle rewards were significantly different than what the table sheet shows. NOTHING you said explains the huge difference between numbers presented on forums vs real rewards seen on battle reward screens. This just looks like damage control after being caught trying to sneak in way more serious underhanded reward nerfs masked by the smoke screen of supposed economy changes.

That the changes were reverted (for now) is good ... but the changes were just another extension of steady trend that is going on for several years. I'm sure next change will be better prepared (and less obvious) but I very much doubt the trend will change in any way.

In my honest opinion:

The repair cost should be just a flat out value that is same for all vehicle types rather than individual vehicles.

Or the repair mechanics needs to honestly go. With all the battlepasses, premium vehicles and skins Gaijin sells this would do nothing for their profits ,but it would also be a small net gain for the playerbase.

But I don't see these changes being made unless they are pressured into giving the community what they want. So while the recent changes have been reverted remember it is not enough. Continue to make feedback about the costs of repairs being too high while the SL and RP income gain is too low.

Thank you for taking into account the community's suggestions. However, the economic issues are not limited to the 5/16 update but have been accumulating over the past few years. We need to continue our struggle to make developers truly prioritize this issue and work towards ongoing improvements.

Thank you for listening and taking action so quickly. There was a lot of heated discussion, but we as players appreciate our voice being heard!

Strange you didnt hear the players for years.....

Economy problems were rised hundreds of times, yet you needed this 'special economic operation' fiasco to finally acknowledge something...

Well, the revert of the update will not resolve the lack of SL and RP for casual player and the high repair cost for mid and high tier vehicles that punish player for playing and dying. Not talking about endless grind, vehicle cost, crew cost etc.

You may have revert your changes, but It's STILL wasn't enough for rewarding SL.

I suggest you decrease it further by 40% or at least 50% Repair Charges on all vehicles.

Because Some of vehicles are still unbearable to play and return rewards is dismal even with the booster Premium or Not.

We want that minor nations have reduced costs as well, but we want overall for everyone further reduced costs to make it more enjoyable for everyone, right now it is a necesary evil so to say to get that across

Il y a 1 minute, Botharman a déclaré :

L'économie allait bien après la mise à jour, merci d'avoir fait en sorte que Gaijin revienne la seule bonne mise à jour pour les nations mineures pour toujours

we found the only player who liked the changes,  are you a new player?

I think... Rolling back to before the modification is unacceptable, and it is still easy to lose money
My idea is to get our grinding efficiency + Silver Lion revenue back to where it was around 2016
It's simple, if it can be done
Players will be satisfied and invest more, more, more, more and more money, and will recommend WT to more and more friends, win-win

"We have heard you"
No, you did not. You only "Heard" the revenue and ratings drop, you don't care about the playerbase and it have been proven over the years. Everyone should keep this embargo going

Look my guy everyone can win no matter what nations we play major or minor if we can get Gaijin to fix their horrible economy.

A flat out repair cost decrease across the board by let's say 30% should be enough. And let's also increase the bonus SL gain you get for higher tier vehicles. If we keep the pressure up they will have to listen to us.

Well I did not understand what was going on, new economy was same as before for me, so I will comment about vehicle placements in the tech tree.

Apart from non-grouping vehicles, they were positive. I would like to see the rearrangement of PUMA and Begleitpz, as well as the new rank 1 tank branches for Germany.

Why can't the devs just come to the forums, where we can all discuss it together? Why use that strange site when gathering constructive feedback is what the forum is here for? I know at least some devs can speak English, and there's always google translate. Hell if they want to discuss in the RU forums we'd be totally fine with that. The RU players seem to have the same grudges as we do.

Such one-way feedback will never solve the real problems.
