What Happened to the Weekend Bonuses That Used to Exist

It seems like many years ago there used to be events that would offer 2x the RP/SL over the weekends. Is there any reason that this stopped? I'm curious and it would be great to see it return if possible. It incentivizes players to want to play the game more, which should in turn allow for both the players to get more vehicles researched and also allow Gaijin to sell more premium vehicles since players would be playing more and interface with the game more. Thoughts?

That was eons ago. Used to get a 5X multiplier for your first battle (each day? each week? can't recall) with each nation, too. Sure wouldn't mind seeing that come back, too.

Yep, I was around for the uproar over the 5x getting reduced, then the uproar over the 2x getting replaced by login bonuses. There will always be something to be upset about as the most recent events have shown. Anyway, it'd be nice if first win of the day multipliers came back.
