Say something nice about War Thunder.

Gaijin's unique mouse control of the aircraft is one-of-a-kind, and is by far more casual than other aircraft control games such as Battlefield or Project Wingman.

Also, the 3D models are unbelievably beautiful for a free game. I have always thought of Warthunder as a virtual plastic model in addition to being a game, and it is always fun to take pictures of your favorite aircraft in Warthunder, and with some editing it can look like it was a real photo.

Its a really quite unique game, the variety of vehicles you can play and the level of realism is quite high for a F2P game. Its not simulator but thats good because the gameplay is much more relaxed, anyone can hop in a plane or ground vehicle and have fun without having to have 50 controls bound. That being said the game still models a lot of complex functions of ground vehicles and aircraft, radar , IRCM , missile systems , optical systems and guided munitions are modeled fairly well for this type of arcade style game it brings a good bit or realism. The graphics in the game are also quite amazing the vehicles have nice models and the environmental effects are really quite good , along with the firing of cannons. The different modes offer quite a bit of variation in playstyle from more arcade like playstyle to much more realistic, not quite simulator level but still pretty realistic. I really love this game and although many have had their issues with it I really have not stopped having fun, I enjoy varying my gameplay by playing other nations , low tier , mid  tier, high tier. There is so many different vehicles its not really easy to get bored unless you play the same mode and lineup every battle.

The only reason I play this game over a full-on simulator or a more arcadey game is because War Thunder has a perfect blend between graphics, optimization, realism and accessibility.

In planes for example. There are not that many new air combat games to begin with, and the ones that exist are on opposite spectrums, either too arcade with a non-sensical and convoluted campaign, or totally realistic requiring dedicated hardware and dozens of hours of getting used to.

In War Thunder you get realistically handling planes with properly modelled weapons, and you do that from the comfort of a mouse and keyboard with simple, intuitive controls.

Gaijin needs to be really careful, because they're a monopoly in this segment right now, but if a good studio gets wind of the market opportunity in this segment and releases a competitive rival, they might lose hundreds of thousands of players overnight.

Pro-tip: If your playerbase is praying for a competitor to demolish you, you're probably doing something wrong.

The damage model isn't bad and pretty detailed, but definitely very far from realistic. APHE being the main culprit. APDS and APCR are hyper-nerfed compared to real-life and shaped charges fall into the same category.

Partial penetrations and armor degradation, high caliber rounds vanishing into gun mantlets (Where Newtons 1st Law?), plastic deformation etc.

Also, Optics have no discernible impact on the combat value of the vehicle, despite being the weakest part of any tank during any period.

Great value for the amount of time i spent with it especially without paying a dime and thats not sarcasm. For majority 4-5k hours i spent in the game since 2016 i had no premium and never really had a problem.
Good battle pass implementation for now not quite DRG levels of amazing but i won't hold that against gajin even saying "not quite" is a compliment if it involves deep rock.
They keep mostly doing good in terms of adding mechanics requested and working on improving the game which can't be said about other AAA games.

They added the T-72M  moderna type 2 in an actual good crafting even for once (now just add the type 1 as a points event or squadron and we are cool gajin)

The good events are really good especially the points event recently. I just wish they added the aprils fool ones to a perm rotating playlist afterwords as some are just glorious.

Customer support is one of the best in the business , prompt easy to talk to  and gajin is great in terms of their refund policy especially to GE vehicle's you mistakenly click and purchase.

Performance in the game is great, my PC was purchased only a year or two after i started playing and it wasn't top of the line then. Aside from a few hicups  last year after certain updates it runs the game super great over a 100+ FPS at high and never dipping below it. If anything the game has ran better and better in recent years.

Helicopter PVE - good PVE implementation. I hope they keep it like it currently is or even improve it and take lessons into the other modes.

I said this in another thread, and I'll re-say it here: War Thunder is the best wargaming to be had.

* It's easy for a casual player to get into

* The graphics and effects are very good,

* The vehicle behaviors feel generally relatively realistic (even though they're not strictly so)

* The aircraft mouse controls are very good for casual gaming

* Vehicle explosions are freakishly satisfying

* Successful CAS and air combat are sources of nearly unspeakably-addictive dopamine rush

* The player base (minus the botters and griefers which you'd get anywhere) is generally a fun bunch of people, with whom trash-talking and wingtip smoking is a pleasure

War Thunder is a fun game which has a good "feel" to it,  The feel of flying aircraft which are unquie, famous out of service or out of our reach.

Driving tnaks made simple.
War Thunder is such a unquie game. It sits between the simplified, ease of use of WarGaming World of Tanks and the simulator, "realistic" nature of D.C.S. and the massive mixed nature of ARMA.    The mixture of Tanks, Planes and Boats all in one functional settings.

The magically player own Customs.

Despite all of the games issues, we still come back to the game because we like it.
Noone wants it gone, but if it does, Gijian will be losing the opotunity to recover.

What I found out to my amusement, when the tank tracks hit the upper side of the tank, they produce sparks and make a *clink* sound. I love these small details.

Admit it, you play WT only to hear that Vehicle destroyed ping sound :D

That gives me an idea. I will make it now my phone message ringtone.
