Uptiers 5.7+ - normal??

Rarely that I show up on the offical forum anymore but did they change the up-down-tier?

 

I'm currently playing US 5.7 - and I get uptiered to 6.3-6.7 every match. There wasn't a single downtier for over 50 games. So I thought I would switch to 6.7 US. Now I get uptiered to 7.3 every single match. 

 

Is this normal? Its kinda stressing to be uptiered every match. 

 

Did they change the way how they manage up-downtieres?

Imho this post will be moved to the pinned thread very soon, and yes lots of players have similar issues.

 

 

I stated in this post that i played on Saturday 29 matches with mainly full uptiers. 

After the further matches the last 2 days (finally hit 50) with exactly the same results i stopped counting.

I mean 50 games, not a single full downtier - the mm either don't like me or my planes.

 

Fun fact - i played later again, disabled US and EU server, just SA and RU and my first match was full downtier...

There are a lot of nations with large robust 6.3 and 6.7 lineups.  If you play 5.7 and 6.0, you will absolutely see a HUGE percentage of uptiers.

5.7 has consistent uptiers.  5.3 also seems to be getting dragging to 6.3 more and more now.  4.7 is sucking a lot of the lower tanks in to it because several nations now have solid lineups there which can be downtiered to 3.7/4.0

8.0 is another huge black hole, 7.7 I don't have personal experience with but I believe everything there is just absorbed in to 8.3 as that's where every major nation gets its best cold war lineup.

 

9.7/10.0 premium spam obvious

 

11.7 doesn't see many downtiers to 10.7 now after the decompression, 10.7 seems to be downtiered quite commonly.

This is too normal if you enter 10.3 battle rating you can match with 9.3 or 11.3. I probably match with 10.7 or 11.0 tanks.

But why do I get uptiered to 7.3 constantly when playing  6.7 myself?

Because out of a potential 16 players, only 4 are allowed to have top BR lineups.  So, whatever BR you're playing, the only way for you to get a downtier is for you to be one of 4 people in a top BR slot.

So just to get it right.

When I play 5.7 Im practically forced in uptiers and when I have 6.7 I get uptieres too just because of the 4 people rule? 

Since when? So its practically impossible to get into a normal battle? xxxx hell.

Yeah pretty much the same. I get the same with my 5.7 German and Chinese line ups. 7.3 France the same. But then when I play my Japanese 4.7 I seem to get less full uptiers. 

I think you just have to find a sweet spot with a nation. Which is a frustration when you want to play a certain BR. 

But more often than not yes I'm in up tiers.

The max 4 rule is there for ages, but it really doesn't matter from a holistic pov as the whole spread of the lobby might be highly one-sided.

 

The best example for this is a classical lobby in the Ju 288 black hole. You play with 3 fighters at 5.0 and 4 bombers at 6.0 against 4 fighters at 6.0 and 3 fighters at 5.7. Your 5.0 planes are simply outclassed by their 6.0 opponents, the 5.7 enemies outperform you usually in 2 of 3 main decisive factors (climb, speed, turn). Basically you have to rely on their mistakes in combination with more experience on your side in order to have a very low chance to win. In addition the pure performance advantage is that high, that they can get away with basic mistakes and beat your with sheer number advantage. 

 

But tbh i like this challenge from time to time and i flew several hundred matches like this - and i had some real fun.

So if you like challenges you can also use this as opportunities for epic fights...
