How to complete the game as a free to play user.

As a completionist type gamer I am curious if there is any method to complete the games entire collection for free? As yet I have not seen or heard of any way to unlock any premium vehicle without paying money. Does this mean I can never unlock everything in the game without having to pay? I can never finish the game?

Participate on battlepasses (free one is ok), earn warbonds, do specal tasks and buy prem vehicles out of the warbond shop this way. It should be possible to get four per year this way. I got some useful prem stuff out of that shop.

Short answer no, Long answer is that if you wanna 100% every tree you gonna be spending several years playing the game, and that is going to be a long and painful time. The only thing you can hope for is that gaijin fixes the economy in soon to make this grind much more reasonable, as right now you are looking at several hundred hours PER TREE

Invest time to play the events, and sell the event vehicles, use that income to buy premium time when its on sale, repeat. That's the most effective and least frustrating way.

You can't.

 

It is currently Impossible to obtain all vehicles, especially as a f2p user. Some Event ones never received a Coupon and are thus lost for those who missed out. Others are either seriously expensive or sold out. And a few are not "realistic" enough for Gaijins ideology, like the 3 German Tanks for example.

 

If Gaijin does not find a way to give those vehicles to more people in the future before the game dies, I will be very dissappointed.

So by completing you mean collecting all tech tree vehicles, event vehicles and premiums?

 

You can get GE for free from wagers, screenshot competitions, art competitions, thundershow entries and sometimes from twitch streams.

 

There is also an app that gives you GE for downloading other apps or watching ads, but that app is not from Gaijin and they never give definitive answers regarding that apps legitimacy.

 

When playing for free it also takes months to complete a single tree. And there are 10 nations with at least 3 trees each in the game.

 

The game's economy, even after the most recent nerf has been rolled back also makes non-premium progression pretty much impossible for rank VI+.

 

To unlock new vehicles you need to play vehicles from around their rank, otherwise your progression moves slower than the average glacier, but the economy is designed to make you lose SL when playing at that range without premium. You will inevitably run out of funds and can either not buy new vehicles that you unlock or you can't repair the vehicles that can research them properly anymore.

 

As for event vehicles:

 

You can unlock all vehicles from marathon events for free, but you will need to play the game full-time for ~2 weeks straight. No time for school, university, work, family or friends.

 

The vehicles from crafting events can't all be unlocked for free. You can only get a maximum of 2 prizes per such event without buying parts on the market.

 

Battlepass vehicles require spending money, too. Without buying the BP, you can only get one of the rewards.

 

 

And then there is the thing with unobtainable vehicles.

So.e event vehicles are instantly activated on the account, which means that if you missed getting them, you can't get them on the market either.

 

Also there are lots of vehicles that have been hidden over time, like the Panther II, Coeliac and 10.5cm King Tiger, which are now also unobtainable.

 

 

In short: it is even impossible to "complete" the game while paying money.

If you focus on a particular vehicle type of country then you can get quite a lot of the premioum/ event vehicles without spending a penny, mostly from selling vehicles you earn from events on the gaijin market, which you can then spend the earned Gaijin Coins on anything in the market or from the gaijin score (including premium time and GE) but you do need to have some vehicles that you dont want to be able to sell them e.g. i mainly play planes so i sell all my event tanks and use the money to buy planes, premium time etc.

GE wagers are now gone but you can get 100GE straight up from the login reward (ive only even got this 1 time) and you can also get GE from tornaments and competitons. If you earn an excessive ammount of SL you can also spend that on the SL crates (demolition crate right now) which have a very very small chance of giving some vehicles (they change up which vehicles you can get every time). Also gaijin often makes unobtainable vehicles avaliable again eaither for GE or for an event sometimes.

TLDR: yes you can get any event vehicle/ premium you want for free in theory but you cant get every single event vehicle/ premium (at least not in a realistic amount of time)

Think you misinterpreting the game a bit. There is no ‘finish the game’. There will always be something in the game, to attain. It will that be at least, until GJ, decides to let the game run, and just maintain it. But that is a ways off. 
Having multiple TT’s unlocked, was something that was easy to do a few years back. But now you have even more nations, with their own vehicles. Not to mention nations with 3 TT’s each.
