Non-Essential aircraft features.

There are a number of features/mechanics not represented in game, that whilst would have little to no impact on gameplay, would be great for RP/immersion. Here's a few I've thought of so far, but wondered what other features people would love to see added.

The first is folding wings for carrier aircraft. So when spawning a carrier launched aircraft with folding wings. You have to fold your wings down.

I thought of this seeing this image of HMS ark royal and thought that feature, whilst not massively impactful on gameplay, would be cool to see added.

Another would be TFR autopilot for the Tornados, the ability to set altitude and it would just hold that altitude, adjusting for terrain. Again, not massively impactful for gameplay, but a good feature. (Would also be a great test platform to address the bugs prior to a more advance auto-pilot system we may see on aircraft in the future, like the ef typhoon)

So what other features would people like to see added? Not big things like ECM systems that would affect balance or gameplay, but small things for fun/RP/Immersion?

Aircraft:

  • Have navigation systems point towards your airfield / CCRP point.
  • Have AoA indexers and landing mode for the HUD implemented.
  • Have Fuel gauges work as they should, especially with the more complex displays like that of the F-14.
  • Increase the frequency of night time maps for Aircraft battles and various external lights.
  • Have water condense on the exterior when traveling though clouds or rain and freeze as altitude changes, and then melt as relevant de-icing systems kick in.
  • Add a setting to have clocks show the Time as the battle's location would, instead of being based on current system's system time.
  • Have knobs and switches in the cockpit change to reflect current settings (e.g. selected station of secondary weapons, radar scope scale, etc.)
  • Allow for jammed guns to be recharged to clear stoppages for relevant installations.
  • proper 1st person camera for gunner positions, that account for parallax.
  • Allow for manual depression of sights, and add tables for ordnance.
  • Add the fuel weight of External fuel tanks, to their stat card.
  • Add metric / Imperial conversions for explosive mass to stat cards where needed.
  • Internal Fuel slider, and Take off weight display added to custom loadouts.
  • Add Radio channels to allow for teamwide / LOS voice communication, onto the existing VOIP functionality for squads.

Tanks:

  • Add accurate historic sights overlays to tanks by default.
  • Add a shell driving band / sabot separation effect.

This used to be a thing kind of back in early WT days and is something that comes from birds of steel I wonder why they removed it. your planes cockpit windshield would have water droplets or if you go very high altitude it would start to freeze up.

I wouldn't mind some sort of autopilot back to base when say..10 miles out, not that I cant land.. half the time I just cant see the airfield in amongst everything else so being pointed in the right direction when home free and safe would be nice

Even just some ATC voices, like how landing in Ace Combat works, but that wouldn't work for those who like to belly land

Or just decently visibly runway lights would do too, I agree there, In sim it can sometimes be hard to see
