[Feedback] Economy Revision - Our Plan in Detail

Improved the balance of Silver Lions (SL). Increasing the reward multiplier and reducing the cost of repairing vehicles to make all vehicles break even for the average player, including without a Premium account. Update June 2023.

 

Wating for this one, hope will not be one step forward, two back.

For the most part, I think the changes are all very good. I can think of two things that are really a thorn in my side.

 

1. the tasks, especially of the battlepass, are far too elaborate and difficult. Especially if I have already bought the battlepass, as a casual player I really have to invest all my free time for the tasks. I'm no longer 15 and have plenty of time to play war thunder all day. Please adapt this to your player base.

 

2. the second thing hits the same notch as the first problem. Leveling helicopters also takes too long and is incredibly dull and boring. Please mock the rp in the ground for helis massively or adjust the possibilities of leveling up.

suggestion:

1- make battle pass worth it, too much grind rewards suks and vehicles are not selleable anymore

2- kill award aqnd reward according the damage done by the player, i mean if i shoot  an  oponent is  he's spinning on fire to the ground (but still alive for a few seconds) other players can shoot and steal the kill witch is annoying and frustrating.

3- make a very cheap vehicle (only one) for each tier , like a reserve vehicle,  in case you go broke and you're stuck in the progress (new player frindly)

Finally, I've been waiting for this for so long. I play France ground rb the most and boy the repair costs and reward are absolute garbage for minor nations.

For comparison : Panther D vs M4A3E2 (france) (both 5.3)

→jumbo has higher repair costs, especially in AB

→Panther gets 50% more sl reward!!!!

And it's the same thing at 7.3 and 7.7

I want to say thank you to the War Thunder team, these changes are very promising and cover most of my gripes with the game.

I have two small suggestions that I think are valuable.
 

1. For foldered vehicles you mention reduced RP cost to research the others in a folder citing trying to promote them to increase their low use case. This is great, but I would suggest one step further, make it so you can choose which of the vehicles in the folder to research first and then the others get the RP discount. This way players have the choice, maybe they want to spend an extra few thousand RP for the higher tier in a folder to start, or just want a vehicle to progress quickly and choose the lower RP cost one. Then when they are ready they can research the others at the reduced cost. This I think would even further help the usage of foldered vehicles by making it so that players can choose between them, as it sits right now the first one will always have way more usage then others in a folder, they would help to balance that out.

 

2. For capping a point, the changes are great but I would ask for one other change. In the battle mode where there are two captured points the reward for capping is the same as a normal cap, even though it takes a huge amount more time and is so much more important as it ends the entire game. I've had games I solo capped the point, sitting there defensive sacrificing kills to win the game spending minutes to cap as my team nears defeat to pull out victory, only to get a tiny capture reward. I think this cap should at minimum reward the same sl/time reward capping a normal point, but I think it should really be that plus ~25% as a normal cap is just helping your team towards victory while this cap ends the game with your team winning so the bonus is to account for the extra importance of this capture.

I wrote a very long post a few days ago but because I didn't have enough games played the past week the forum just denied the post and deleted everything I had written. Yes I'm really annoyed especially when I'm trying to help the game recover to be less horrible.

 

So here's a shorter recap: Do not be fooled by these changes. A lot of it is positive however many core issues are not addressed whatsoever and some may actually turn up far far worse.

Excellent that RP/Sl is being buffed especially high tier as well as other positive changes. However certain game modes (aka all except air which is barely playable with premium account) are absolutely horribly slow that even premium account just doesn't make it any fun. It can take literally weeks or even months just to unlock a single new vehicle. That's is not acceptable especially when you have a premium account.

 

There are literally thousands iof vehicles in the game and taking several weeks/months just to unlock a single vehicle is just insane. Say I'm doing good in a tier 7-8  air game, with premium, with premium aircraft and I still only get 5-7k RP it will take me 60-84 games to unlock the new F-14B. That's good games. There might be a few great games here and there maybe giving 10-15k but that's still 28-42 great games just for a single vehicle. Time par game is roughly around 10 minutes long so you can easily count how much time you need to spend with all the speed bonuses just to unlock a single new vehicle. That's just ridiculous when you're paying both for a premium account AND a premium vehicle costing as much as a brand new AAA game. Absolutely insane.

 

Speaking of premium account. You've introduced some free backups and free repair if you should end up at a deficit. That's purely cosmetic covering up the core issue that games just aren't profitable enough that a bad/mediocre games or even decent/good games doesn't give enough rewards to even cover the repair costs. This must be fixed properly and for all players. How are you supposed to be able to afford expert crews, squadron vehicles, modifications, new vehicles etc when you can barely make a profit?

 

Why have you not fixed that premium account boosts RP by 100% but SL by only 50%? You're effectively punishing people with premium accounts by further starving them.

 

You're introducing mechanics that increase research speed on foldered vehicles as well as other nations once you've reached top tier as well as a bonus RP reward if you're doing really well in a game. However this doesn't boost the SL whatsoever, so yet again you're starving the players on SL just like before and you're pretending like it's a reward when it's actually a detriment in the long run. You're unlocking vehicles and modifications that you simply can't afford to purchase.

 

SB "pay to spawn" costs have not been addressed whatsoever despite that it's a massive detriment to the game mode as a whole. You're literally guaranteed to lose money by simply spawning unless you manage to get several kills which is an absurd thing to ask. The average kill/death ratio should never be assumed to be higher than 1:1.

 

You need to add SL multipliers to FULLY match any RP multipliers in these mechanics as well as on premium accounts. Players should never be starved of SL when being average or being good/great. Ever. Regardless of vehicle or game mode played.

 

Great that you're finally doing something however you're still not doing anywhere near enough to turn this game back from its path towards doom.
