[Feedback] War Thunder Changes Roadmap

"The ability to accept an apology for a teamkill. When accepting an apology, the apologizing player is not awarded penalty points, followed by a possible kick from the session and a ban for this teamkill. Next Major update."

 

While I welcome 95% of the new team kill policy.

I think people could exploit this to just kick the person who accidentally teamkilled just to spite them. People barely use the Thank you pop up command functions let alone forgiving someone after being killed by someone.

 

Will the accidental Team kill limit still be 2?? Because 1 accidental kill and an kick from the session is too low IMO.

The repair cost of plane in 【ground RB 】 and 【 air RB】should be different, for they earn different silver lions in every battle.

 

Use a plane which cost 10000+ silvers in ground battle  is worthless,  that makes most planes don't even "exist" in ground battles,

 

although there are hundreds of planes in warthunder but only few planes will be choosed to be used in ground battle. This is really  not fun at all !

      My 10th year of WT has been the most frustrating with "1 & done" players and impossible grinds in trying to take advantage of all the gameplay available ( even tried Enlisted) I am hopeful I will feel better about the $1,000's of dollars I've spent on WT each year. While I have many Premium vehicles, I have not bought any "new" models because gameplay has been too difficult to call fun. I hope the economics are enough to encourage the newer players to do the grind of winning in games.

One thing I was really hoping will get addressed here and wasn't, is real shatter mechanic. In my opinion it needs thorough rework, if not complete removal from the game.
The only thing it brought to the game is a MASSIVE inconsistency in damage output of mid to high caliber HE based rounds in planes' armament. To the point where more often than not it is more beneficial to bring ground attack belts with majority of armour piercing ammo for 20-30mm cannons, to quarantine more consistent damage.

I think we all remember how before the addition of this mechanic damage output was consistent and accurate.
And when it was added for the first time it completely ruined most if not all high caliber cannons, so in some cases you'll need 20-50+ accurate hits with Me 262s quad 30mm to even get a critical hit.

Yes, it was "fixed" afterwards, but it still remains in the game. Bringing only frustration to players that are not getting rewarded for their well placed shots, sometimes not even registering a hit while you can clearly see multiple splash marks on the enemy planes fuselage.

Looks good! Cant wait to see it in game. I am most excited about the adjustment of the br's that move atgm carriers up away from the t-29,t-32,tiger2,maus,is6,is3,is4, etc. I really hope you guys consider some of the armored cars/small vehicles with high pen heat rounds, these are also problematic. I dont mind having heat at said br, 6.7-7.7, i would just like recoiless tanks and other smaller heat rounds to be adjusted in some way. In this meta manuever and gun outweigh armor so heavily since this is a game and 3rd person peeking exists. Historically tanks are famous for their armor layout and design until late 50's early 60's, 8.3 to 9.0.

A few things to note:
1.- A lot of people especially from 7.3 forward actually like big maps. I think big maps, and especially diverse maps with spots where you can brawl, snipe...etc are essential for game diversity and fun. Big maps, and sniping spots are essential for top tier, so please consider not butchering all the maps that give a slight advantage by being 5 meters above sea level.

2.-Changing research reward modifiers and adjusting economy based on vehicle rank and economic rank is not very different from what you tried to do a few months ago when people got angry. Now you are asking people to vote on the same system. I think you should take more time to think about this.
Vehicles NEED to have a closer, more personal look at individual reward modifiers, especially RESEARCH ones, as with the proposed changes a lot of vehicles including premium ones will essentially be rendered useless as their reward modifiers simply won´t be worth it anymore and people will just buy top tier premiums, further adding to the issues at top tier. Keep in mind I fully support lower silver repair costs, and higher rewards, but research modifiers will be completely different if this comes into effect and many vehicles used for grinding will be rendered useless.

3.-
I propose adding a different br for some air vehicles in ground and air RB. Using something like a su 25 or A10/A6 in air rb is painful, especially witht eh new long range maps, but using something like an A6 intruder at 10.0 ground rb is very good. The new su25T/su39 is an even more extreme example. It´s a su 25 with worse performance that fights mig 29´s and F16s in air rb.

4.- Adding better rewards for people that get more kills is a good idea in theory, but at the same time a lot more people will become tryhard and will incentivise killstealing and griefing. I propose adding increasing rewards for every action in the game, more assists, scouts, friendly repairs...etc.

Worst proposal of the roadmap, I highly dislike this feature. 
It would just encourage dying fast in a match to avoid repair cost, for example going full commit head on, crashing into the ground etc.

It will be a very bad change if implemented imo.

Airfield AI anti aircraft guns should be also nerfed/reworked in low tiers. They are currently felt by players as an impenetrable hit scan.

It is the easiest mechanic to exploit in the game to not die and it should be reworked.

I agree with this economy update and have already voted yes (https://poll.gaijin.net/survey/106/). It is a buff for the overall SL rewards so that is great.

Best proposal of the roadmap, I highly like this and I think it will be very positive to the gameplay and the experience of good players.

Also a motivation for new players to improve.

It should also be done with the SL reward.

I read something about Capture Points, but I am unsure if the following was addressed yet: Stop splitting the CAP Scores, it is really frustrating when you cannot be the first on it. Additionally, give everyone in a certain radius around the CAP some Points.

So, I really were happy to see that you are serious about fixing the game. Starting to read and then I get slapped on my face by the following statement "we may decide to modify or roll back some or all of those changes." For me that is foretelling that you are willing to go back to your old ways of ruining the game to squeeze people for money if things don't go well for your pockets gaijin, instead of making us want/willing to pay you in support for the cool stuff like decorations or cosmatics and cool premium benefits and many other things that make it cool to be premium without runing our gameplay for anyone.
 

Gaijin you have to options:
1- Good business: Making the community happy to pay you what you want for things the community really wants.

2- Nasty business: Lossing players base and forcing the players to boycut you for ruining fans gameplay/experience to force them into paying you for then to walk around problems put in place for squeezing money out of the players.
 

Give the community what they want and you will get what you want if you are reasonable and not greedy.

I really want to pay you money so don't force me boycott you.

Looking forward to see and hear good amazing things.

I very much like that the increasing Teamkilling habit is being addressed!

 

May I ask how you will treat deliberate TK by ramming? I would think it will be hard to find out by programming who was the killer and who the victim...

I agree with one of the commenters. In my opinion, the ban for teamkills is not appropriate. I think it would be enough to kick a player out of a battle for 2 teamkills for example. Consider the destruction radius of some bombs (Pe-8 or Lancaster III).

These changes seem extremely positive and hopefully will make the game attractive to new players as well as more enjoyable for veteran players. Hopefully they don't get rolled back after being implemented though.

Well, I could write a 1,000 page essay to define what "Hate Speech" is... so really, it would be impossible to easily define it, especially after taking all of the countries that War Thunder is played in into consideration with all the different rules/laws and culture...

Depends.... there would be no issue with "Bad team" you can check with Game Masters to be sure... but calling the team "Stupid" or "R-tarded" etc... or even ranting on and on, would get the attention of GMs for sure....

 

And the issue is that, what is not offensive to some in certain countries, might just well be offensive in other countries, as I kind of mentioned... even if everyone is speaking English... and well, you know on top of it all... everyone is offended by something these days...

 

But, Game Masters are from all over the world, so they would be well versed for most offensive things and or for their own country and know what to look out for when things are reported... so, if things are reported within reason, it will be investigated and actions taken as necessary... and as always if some have issues with Moderation, then contact GMs in game or on the Forum to discuss the issue

 

 

War Thunder is very competitive... and you are bound to get bad teams.... and frustrations can and will flare for sure..... one thing to keep in mind tho.... is that players will just have bad luck, and they tend to have bad luck in your match and hence the "Bad team" ^^ and you will not be immune to bad luck also, so players tend to have bad luck during other players good games, and they will get frustrated at you for messing it all up in turn... so its kind of a endless cycle of bad luck that just goes around

I have a question regarding the "Insurance".

It was worded as
"Improvements to Premium accounts, if your total repair cost exceeds your income, you will be compensated after the battle, ensuring that your SL tally for the match remains at zero"

 

Context:

I am a premium but casual player and I like to keep the auto-repair unticked, because I like playing low BRs (I through IV) and I play maybe one  to three matches then return to the game hours or days later, so for me, currently, it works nicely to not have auto-repair active, because by the next time I play, the damaged vehicles have benefitted from the "free hangar repair" to be repaired or at least less damaged, allowing me the CHOICE of purchasing the repair with SLs or not.

 

Question:

A player with auto repair unticked, will they get a reimbursement of the repair costs (meaning they earn MORE per match if they leae auto repair off, which in my eyes is a nice compensation for premium players who are not "using" their bonuses in RP and SL as often as hardcore gamers? Or does the above only apply if auto repair is active?

I feel the exact same way. Since they're not reducing the research required for rank VI and VII planes till September there's no incentive to buy anything during the summer sale. Thought their goal was to make money lol, yet they put the most important thing last. Shocking!!!

I hope to add map selection function to my advanced account

And solve the problem of losing more than a dozen games in a row and losing all night

It's frustrating to have a nuclear bomb and not throw it away, and the game is over at the end of time

At least those who can release the nuclear bomb can be thrown out

Hi, I'd really appreciate it if you would revise the performance of the Mosquitoes and the Jaguar GR1 at some point, because it seems both planes go far too slow. Also would love to see the bomber variant of the mosquito someday (As long as it goes the right speed ;))

All these changes are fantastic though keep it up!

heli progression tree added to the army vehicle line... like together but separate? sounds interesting.. but remember we start from rank 1 and its rankv 5... raises a question of "are we there yet?"

 

the dead plane with a live pilot that can still shoot... i say leave it... its the last play of a fight/flight... people just need to learn to cook their dinner properly. undercooked food will make you sick. turn up the heat pilots or get tossed out the kitchen. its a learning experience.. much like a burning tank with no breech can still use the machine guns if the crew member is alive... considered fair play.

 

but nice road map i think the economy department liked the beatings. tell management not to stop. i say swerve and step on it. lets find out how good this idea is. i would like to enjoy tanking before stona checks into a retirement home.

its a slippery slope. you could say this response is hateful?  would the asterick  in your given context be inviolation of section 3.2.2 obscene  or abusive in context. people with a high enough reading comprehension can understand what those astericks mean. you calling people an ****. not a lovely thing so would that only leave the catergory of hate?

 

this is the issue with even the definition. what is hate and who decides?

Three things I see as issues not addressed.

 

- First, all drones, including scout drones need to be moved up to 10.7 and above. Most of the vehicles below that do not have access to scout drones to this day. Why would they have access to scout drones in the game. Playing 7.7 ground and seeing scout drones just seems ridiculous. 

 

- Second, while the forests on the maps seems like a problem, the real problem is the elevations on the maps in ground. Why can you shoot from one spawn area into another spawn area?

 

- Third and most important, WHY ARE THE ENEMY SPAWN LOCATIONS MARKED ON YOUR MAP??? The spawn locations of the enemy team, should not be shown on your map. In any other game and in life, you do not know where the enemy is coming from. This is to prevent spawn camping. If the enemy finds your spawn, the spawn needs to be dynamic and change locations so your team can still spawn in the game. This means you can still play in the match. The top tier of ground can reach the other side so fast. The games are over to fast because one team heads straight to the enemy spawn because they know right where to go.
