Steam Warthunder vs Regular?

Hello!

 

So i just made another topic about free eagles and it no not work, sorry i am stupid!

 

So i have another question. I just saw some War thunder steam packs and its better deal then War thunders website deals. so i may get it from there.

 

So my question is:

 

I have current War thunder installed via their website. But i saw a steam download on steam too?

 

Whats the difference between them?

 

If i install War thunder on steam can i use same account?. I mean i use my ViruZ_X8X account and my stats is saved?

 

I was thinking about to get all 3 packs on steam for around 72 euros for all and i get like 3 mounths premium and 4 premium airplanes and 14000 eagles.

They are the same. If you take your war thunder folder and copy it to your steam game folder, steam is updating roughly 1GB and then you have it on steam.

Steam will launch the normal warthunder launcher - so all future updates will be as usual via the warthunder launcher.

Or you can take your game codes for DLC's from Steam version and redeem them on portal and play your standard game as now with all goodies in it.

I did it and it works flawless.

Big advantage of using the steam launcher is that if you buy any packs or Gold in game you pay for it via the steam checkout, and not via the merchants on Gaijin's website which have caused issues for people.

you can do that tho you should check your computer for viruses since you probably now have an innumerable amount of them from going to that site and installing software like you did i would be very wary about putting ANY personal details into your computer till you have done a full check of it

or just start the download then pause it and right click on the WT icon, click view dlc then copy and paste the keys into WTs main website without having to download anything

Of course you can get both packs, no clue what he means. (I did and it works). The only thing you can not do is buy the same pack twice, what wouldn't make sense anyway.

No. Your progress is server sided. That means your progress will never be affected by anything you do on your pc. Just log in and all your progress will be back :)

The Steam awards/achievements, do they mean anything (extra SL?)

....?

 

Hope someone can tell me if using steam is beneficial.

I know this post is a bit old but I have used it both ways ... independent of Steam and with Steam.  I choose independent most of the time because I see no reason to use more system resources for Steam.  I really shouldn't worry about resources with 30GB Ram and a new i7 desktop, but old habits and all.  I have also purchased as many packs as I wanted with no problems through Gaijins store/PayPal. I use Linux but I have had no viruses either.  I don't know where people come up with this BS, but you can feel safe using War Thunder independent from Steam.
