Naval Warefare Howto :-). My first Sea Battle!

Greetings by the #1 Naval Warefare expert at WT.

With last game update 1.59 of 2016-06-10, a swimming US ground vehicle was introduced.

So I may drive in the wonderful lake in Poland and swim there, and the rivers or water channels of some other locations.

 

WARNING, WARNING: The vehicle can´t drive backwards in water. No way, it has just 1 propeller in the back. Means in closely environments ( rocks in the water, ice sea with icebergs ), where you might drive in a tight gap, you can´t drive out it, backwards :-(, but you are helplessly stuck and can´t move. Think of this vehicle in water like an airplane in air, while the vehicle on ground is like a helicopter...:-)

Btw, is there a list of all WT ground-battle locations online, somewhere, with name and screenshot?

So far, I didn´t make the efford to write down when I played :-(.

 

So I will include here a list of all WT battle scenarios, which feature a river, lake or ocean sea.

a) Poland ( no town mentioned ), a deep lake. You may leave the water.

b) Stalingrad, the deep river Wolga (  looks more like a lake :-)?! ). You may leave the water.

c) Kuban, a deep lake. You may get on the lake by jumping over the cliff. You may leave the water at D3 and C7, but I failed both to return to battleground at F2 there...

d) Eastern Europe ( unknown town ), a deep river. You may leave the water at several locations.

e) Tunisia ( unknown town ), some rivers and the "Mediterranian" ocean sea. The rivers may be passed at most locations by normal ground vehicles. You may leave the water of the ocean sea and of any river.  ## On 2016-07-14, I had my first "Sea Battle" - LVT vs. LVT :-).

f) Berlin, deep river "Spree". You can´t leave the water.

g) White Rock Fortress ( at unknown location ), a deep river.

 - You may leave the water at several locations.

 - You may not cross the bridge at C5, by water.

 - At D6 / D7 is a ford / passage to the ground D7 which may be used by non-swimming ground vehicles too. So standard ground vehicles may visit the ground at D7. Though there is the warning that you be drowned by the water within 5 seconds you may ignore it if you drive straight fast on the track.

h) Jungle mission ( at

i) Port Novorossiysk, the "Black Sea" ocean sea.
  - With some battlegrounds, you may leave the water.

  - With some other battlegrounds, you can´t leave the water.

  - Warning: With some battlegrounds, the water is separated into 2 different areas. As you if can´t leave the water, you are stuck in the selected water area... e.g. a one without seeing an enemy forever, besides red planes.

j) Finland ( at unknown location ), an ocean sea ( Baltic Sea or Arctic Ocean) or lake at two different locations, but the water/ice area at column 1 is ok for swimming, while the water/ice area at 10 is not ok for swimming. You may leave the water.

k) Mozdok, with some battle scenarios, there is a ( battle-irrlevant )  small deep lake . You may leave the water.

l) Karelia. There is a lake on the map, but you can´t visit it by the LVT ( I tried ).

m) Normandy ( in France, at unknown location ), an ocean sea ( North Atlantic ). You may leave the water.

n) Second battle of El Alamain, there is a ( battle-irrlevant ) small deep lake next to one of the bases at F9. You may leave the water.

However:

a) Volokolamsk ( Nelidovo, Petelino, Bolshoe Nikolskoe, Zhdanovo ) - With some battle scenarios, there is a lake. However, the lake is frozen, you don't need a swimming vehicle

No deep river, deep lake, or beach with deep ocean sea at all :-(

b) Advance to the Rhine ( town: Cologne ). You can't visit the river "Rhine" by ground vehicles, and for temporary air raids, there are no seaplanes supplied

2.

How to force to do some US naval warefare, to make a swimming party ?

My solution is to setup the lowerst BP team for US,

 

a)  LVT(A)(1), Reserve

b)  M2A4, Reserve

c)  M2A2, BP 1.0

 

by some unknown reason I think that this best to get battle scenario a river, lake or ocean sea.

I remember that when I started WT with German tanks, most of the time I played in Poland with the wonderful lake... so somehow WT is configued to put the teams with lowest BP to there...

 

With a US setup with maximum BP1.3, I experienced that somehow I didn´t get so much river&lake battle scenarios.... so I was disappointed again and again, no river or lake..

by chance, or is there some arbitrary business logic mechanics helping me to get rivers and lakes, with BP 1.0 maximum ?!

 

Of course as LVT(A)(1) is a reserve ground vehicle, it is common that most of that ground vehicles appear in game battles with a BP less than 2 :-), so if I want to "see" these vehicles then in such battles.

 

I am not shure if it helps to exclude " M2A2" from the setup, to decrease the BP level on the very-very lowest level...

 

3.

If there is some manipulation of WT administration, to put lowest BP level teams on battleground with lake or river,  it would be a "genious measure" :-)

The other day I was trundling down the riverside road in Eastern Europe, minding my own business, when I got shot by an LVT that was floating down the river. What a surprise that was!
