Armament

Guns: **2 × 20 mm MG 151/20 cannons in dorsal turrets
1 × 20 mm MG 151/20 in tail
2 × MG 151/20s at waist
1 × MG 151/20 in gondola
2 × 13 mm (.51 in) MG 131 machine guns in gondola
Bombs
Bomber versions could carry up to 3,000 kg (6,600 lb) of disposable stores or up to three Fritz X or Henschel Hs 293 radio-guided munitions, though these were not widely used

I believe this would make a nice heavy bomber at tier 3 or 4 for the german line

And its not a prototype, 58 were put into active service before the end of the war

With only 3000kg it would actually be T3 at best.

Considering the Do217 Bombers can Carry 4x1000kg Bombs and have higher Mobility than this one.

If we put in the ones with the 10 MG 151s, it's not tier III material

Why 290 when can 390?

'Cause 290 was mass produced, unlike the 390?

These would not have 3000kg Bomb Capacity as well so still T3

B17 is T3 as well after all.

The one Suggested however has 6x20mm Guns and 2x13mm Guns as well as 3000kg Bombload.

The A5 Variant if I get that right.

Its pretty much on par with the B17

Cant find any trace of RLM grade material for this plane.

Here are some secondary sources:

Update:

RLM manual exists somewhere, so Gaijin can find 1st hand info on this.

I would really like to see this plane atleast as a bot for German escort missions.

P.S: What exactly is needed for a plane to be accepted?

It depends. Some people succeeded to convince Lassar for the Ki-94 by providing a lot of data about it.I think if enough data is provided, there's a big chance for the Ju 290.

The Exact Criteria is unlikely to be ever Lifted.

And Assumably also depends alot on the Personal Gut Feeling of the Devs.

However.

-As much Detailed Technical Data as possible.

-Photos of Original Aircraft in Service

-Combat and Performance Records

-Reasoning as to why the Aircraft would Benefit Warthunder if Implemented.

These are the Core Points which will Boost the Chances for Acception.

I have a book about German heavy bomber projects (primarily the "Amerika" bombers, but it also discusses other related aircraft such as the Fw-200, He-177 and Ju-290 to a degree) that might allow me to provide some additional data regarding the aircraft's development.  I'll see what it says about the Ju-290.
