Events logs

 

The event logs are files that have the function to record events on your computer, for example when a program encounters an error.
The importance of this files is that they contain details on how to solve to solve problems with Windows or any programs you may have installed.

How to access:

 

Start button > right-click on Computer > select Manage > Event Viewer*

 

or

 

Start button > Control Panel > System Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer*

 

or

 

From Start Screen > Click on desktop > on the desktop window press Windows + R simultaneously > in the Run command box type SERVICES.MSC and press enter*

 

*it may require an administrator password

 

 

 

The different types of events:
 
  • Application
  • Security
  • Setup
  • System
  • Forward Events
 
Events description:
 
Application: errors, warnings, information (which will depend of the type of problem). 
 
Security: success or failure on logins on Windows.
 
Setup: controllers (dll files).
 
System: errors, warnings, information of Windows.
 
Forward Events: events that are displayed on this log by other computers.
