panzerjager 1

the mighty panzerjager 1.

It was armed with Czech 47mm Pak(t) 36 L/43.4 (Skoda 47mm A-5 P.U.V vz.36 gun), operated by the crew of three and build on PzKpfw I Ausf B’s chassis. Crew was protected only by a gun shield, open at the top and rear. The gun had limited traverse of 15 degrees. 86 rounds of ammunition were carried. Originally, it was intended to use 50mm Pak 38 gun but it was not yet ready for production. From March 1940 to February 1941, 202 were converted by Daimler-Benz, Skoda and Alkett. 132 were produced in three series (40, 50 and 42) from March to May of 1940 by Alkett, followed by 70 produced by February of 1941 by Skoda. Two versions can be distinguished by the number of sides of the gun shield. Those produced by Skoda had seven sides and by Alkett five sides. Small number was also armed with 37mm Pak 35/36 L/45 (with original gun shield) guns mounted directly on the hull in place of a removed turret. They proved inefective and rapidly disappeared because of their inadequate fire power, although some remained in service as late as 1943. Panzerjager I saw service in the West, North Africa and Russia with Panzerjager Abteilungs (e.g. 521st, 605th, 616th, 643rd and 670th Panzerjaeger Abteilung in France, 1940). It is reported that few were armed with 50mm PaK 38 L/60 guns after 1940, but it is not confirmed. It was the first of many self-propelled anti-tank vehicles produced during the war.

i think that this icon, the first ww2 tank destroyer for germany, is seriously neglected. it should have been in the game from the beginning.

The 4.7 cm PaK (t) L / 43 could fire Czech and Austrian ammunition.

this would put the tank at br 1.7, since the 47mm wasnt able to do much. in fact, looking at these numbers, the panzerjager 1 was hardly any better than a panzer 3 E. its only advantage over the 37mm used by the panzer 3 and the pz 38(t) was that these shells were capable of holding more penetration over distance.

i dont know if it used APCR (the magical apcr!!!) but it was capable of using 2 types of munitions. an austrian shell (less penetration power) and a tjecho shell (more penetration power). we could do it like this, that you start with the austrian shell, and that at tier 2 you can unlock the better tjecho shells.

these machines were used in combat on various fronts in the war, including them seems like a good choice. should it be in the stug line, or with the marders?

We need RSO Pak 40, Sd.Kfz 251/9, 10, and 22.

Yes. It could go before the Stug, since the Stug has a high BR for a tier 1 vehicle.

stug line seems more appropriate, since officially its a panzerjager and not a marder, but the gun itself is from tjecho grounds.

I disagree.  The StuGs were assault guns that ended up getting shoehorned into the tank destroyer role after a while, while the Marders were purpose-built (or as the case may be, converted) tank destroyers, as was the Panzerjager I, hence why it should be with the Marders.  On the other hand there are purpose-built tank destroyers on the StuG line as well, but the Panzerjager I bears more of a resemblance to a Marders than to vehicles like the Jagdpanzer IV.

I think this will be a good suggestion as the Panzer IV C is too OP, it faces many reserve tanks during the battle(depends on the line-up on AB) and it is pretty hard to be knocked out unless that Panzer IV has no more armour and can be easily destroyed by reserve tanks. Um, add a poll like:

1. Do you want this vehicle in the game?

    a) Yes

    b) No (state why)

2. Where will it be situated?

    a) with the Stug 3 line-up

    b) with the Jadpanther Hetzer line-up

    c) I voted no to the first question

This is just plainly my suggestion, if you had other ideas, use them, don't worry about my suggestion(this pretty sounded weird for a suggestion 8/s )Anyway, +1 from me, I will support it all the way! :good:

Yea it should be added, right before the StuG.

Why it belongs there? Because it's a TD based on a German Panzer chassis, just like that whole line (PzIII, PzIV, PzV Panther, PzVi Tiger P and PzVI TigerII).

On the other hand Marder series is kinda in the Czechs line where everything is based on Pz38(t)

idk i've seen some other suggestions for some Marder Variations, and we already have 2 of them don't want to have another endless Panther/Panzer/sheman like tech line.

If it's easy and fast to implement well go right ahead.
