why Kamikazes wear helmets????

Well, I'd guess that if they hit turbulence or something, so they don't bump their head on the way to the target, get knocked out and crash into the ocean :yes:

Did you know in the warring states period the Japanese infantry with their metal pointed hats would flip them upside down and use them to cook their rations?

So why not cook dinner on the flaming wreck that is your plane!? =O

 

I'm pretty sure every nation did that.

Afaik, this "helmet" is made to protect from cold and sun while flying, not to provide protection from any damage. It helps the pilot do his job while flying.

 

You don't want to loose a pilot because it's too cold or because he stayed a long time under the sun in his fighter.

Well, when it comes down to it, a Kamikazi pilot and a normal pilot have to do exactly the same things bar one.

 

Land on the runway after the mission. How does a helmet help you land a plane?

 

 

(Of course, if they flew out there and failed to find the target, or suffered prblems with their plane and had to turn back they'd have to land it too...)
