Launcher Update Crashes on Mac

So my WT launcher was updating to 1.61 and after checking the files it was about to start downloading and instilling the update. As soon as it starts doing that, a second launcher pops up and says that it has crashed and asks if I would like to send a report. I do, it shuts down, and the 1st launcher page just stays there not responding forcing me to force quit it. I have no idea whats going on with it and I have done everything, restarting steam, restarting my computer, updating my OS but nothing works. Is there anything else I can do to solve this or do I have to wait for Gaijin to come out with a patch for this?

1st picture: Waiting for eternity for the game to check the files

2nd picture: 2nd launcher opens and promptly crashes

3rd picture: original launcher fails to respond

FOUND THE SOLUTION!!!!!

Go to steam and click on properties under the game.

Go to local files and click browse local files.

Find warthunder.yup.update and send it TO THE TRAAAASSSHHHH.

I'm happy that this worked :)

Hey guys, im also in the same boat. Ever since that new update i couldn't play war thunder on my mac but after doing something, it finally worked. War thunder for me started working and i decided to immediately share it with you guys. Make sure you follow closely.

Step 1: go to the launcher that would always crash.

Step 2: in the hard right top corner(next to the language shows a setting icon).

Step 3: press that and look for "Latest Launcher"

Step 4: once you move your mouse to the word, it should highlight. Then click it.

Step 5: once you click it, it should take you to a link and start downloading "wt_launcher_osx_0.9.3.2.1.dmg"

Step 6: put the war thunder launcher in the applications once it finishes downloading.

Step 7: open that application and it should start to launch war thunder and download update info for a couple of minutes.

Step 8: i 99.99 % guarantee you war thunder is gonna work.

Step 9: enjoy your game again.

Step 10: make sure to look closely at which war thunder you are picking. If you loose track, you can always launch from the most recent launcher.

Well i hope this actually works for all you players. Thank you for your time.

Hello.

Or verify the game files within Steam

  • right click on War Thunder in the library
  • -> properties
  • -> local files
  • -> verify integrity of game cache
  • it should analyze the files and start downloading - once it's done the launcher should start again (and will most likely update itself and the game)

Ok, why doesn't daijin just fix the problems so we dont have to reverse engineer everything. when i go to steam and try what FredericusRer mentions, those options arent available to me in steam, I've tried downloading via torrent and that doesn't work, there has to be an easier solution or they should provide a clean copy of the install file.

its not my computer I have a   3.2 mac with 8gb and a AMD Radeon card with 2GB

Because we, the player base of WT, are eternal BETA testers of this game.

 The only way I've been able to play W.T. is to go to WTLauncher in Applications and Wright click on WT Launcher - and click on "Show Package Contents" Then click on contents and then

Double click on War Thunder and the game opens and I have no problem playing.

I only open the Launcher to upgrade and it still locks up after clicking Play.
