How do you buy a pack through steam if you downloaded the game off of Warthunder's website?

I have Warthunder downloaded off of their website but I want to buy a pack via steam currency.  Is there any way I can do this? I heard from a mod that you can do this through clicking "shop" in the Warthunder game, but it only leads me to their store with no sign of being able to purchase a pack from steam.  Please help!

You buy the thing on Steam, you get a code, then you redeem that code via the WT website (log in then look for the "redeem code" button).

Wait for other answers tho to be sure, but i'm 146% sure that's how you do it.

I don't think this helped.  I want to buy the new Japanese tank packs, but they're not available on the steam store.  I heard you can do some sort of steam override or something to purchase it in-game.  Do you know anything of this?

If you buy from the steam store that is correct. If you want to buy something from the war thunder store using steam money you have to go through the in game store with the steam version of war thunder. If you want top use the Steam version but do not want to have to download the game again I think there is some sort of trick you can do where you start installing the steam version then copy the contents of your war thunder folder to the new steam one. Not sure of the details or if it still works though.

Thank you! I googled that, and figured this out:

1. Find your Warthunder files on program files.

2. Cut the folder, and go to C: > Program files> steam > steamapps > common

3. Paste the folder and rename it: War Thunder (Instead of the previous name Warthunder that has no space)

4. Go to Steam Store

5. Search War Thunder

6. Click "Play now"

7. Steam will download 1.3 gb and there, Warthunder is officially a steam game and you can open what is called the "steam overlay" in game.

9. This way, you won't have to download the whole game again.

Another issue I experienced was the folder not allowing me to move it because it was "running" even though the game wasn't playing.  If this happens, go to your task manager and delete any programs that could be keeping warthunder "playing", then just restart your computer and it should work.

Okay after I've done all of this, it still brings me to the WT shop and it doesn't give me "Steam" as an option to pay???

This advice ftom NAM91 helped me:

Hi guys. I found a way of paying for the new packs through Steam. Just do the following:

- Log in the game through the Steam login

- Open one of the research trees

- Pretend you're going to buy one of the Bundle packs and click in "Order"

- Your Steam overlay will open with the Steam browser and you'll be faced with a page that says "Pay through Steam" with the vehicle you're pretending to buy

- On that page, click on the header that says Gaijin.net Store and you'll be sent to the Gaijin Store main page

- Click on the pack of your choice and the Buy through Steam option should show up (to me it was the only one available)

This worked for me and a friend of mine.

Cheers,

NAM91
