Some History:

75ut.gif

Development of the 75 self-propelled grenade guns began in 1962. Development was advanced in parallel with 74-type self-propelled gun mounted with 105 mm. Although the development concept is unknown, it is probably "to make a tow gun self-propelled and improve mobility more." The car body was made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, especially the engine, bore and stroke were commonly used with 74 type tanks and 73 type armored cars that were also being developed at the time (bore 135 mm, stroke 150 mm). Only the cylinder is different (74 type tank is 10 cylinder, 73 type armored car is 4 cylinder). The undercarriage is the same as the five rolling wheels, the 74 type tank and the 73 type armored car, but the point that is different from these is that it has grounded the induction wheel, which has greatly contributed to ensuring the stability at the time of shooting. The engine is placed in front of the car body and the battle room in the rear is widely taken.

Japan steelmaker was responsible for turret capable of rotating 360 °. The 155 mm gun mounted was also developed by Nippon Steel Corporation newly, not the 155 mm howitzer M1 that was then adopted by the SDF. Completion was 30 caliber 155 mm artillery, compared with the range of 15 km of M 1 howitzer, this range greatly increased to 19 km. In addition, it is said that a cannon with a long barrel of 30 caliber has power in combat fights.

This 75-type self-propelled grenade gun is full of sighting equipment, it consists of a panoramic sighting device, a direct sighting device, an electric high-level sighting device, and a collimator. Especially direct sighting machine is not in ordinary self-propelled gun, but in some cases short range fighting will be possible, and it is impossible to penetrate the armor of the tank, but it makes impossible to aim at the undercarriage It will be. In any case, the hit accuracy is quite high with this fuller sight.

The prototype vehicle was completed in 1974, and four prototype vehicles were completed by the following Showa 47, but it was not adopted yet. The reason is that we wanted to improve the loading mechanism better, so we wanted to raise the launch speed, but as we got 155 mm gun it was nearly 40 kilometers even with cannon bullets, so the launch speed would be The limit naturally comes out. Several plans came out at the time of planning, eventually it is said that two kinds of mechanisms were prototyped. One of them is a type loaded with a revolver type rotary drum magazine on the left and right sides of the artillery artillery tail, this method will eventually be adopted. This method has precedent, and AMX - 13 of the French tank adopts this system. However, when considering recruitment in tanks, there is a disadvantage that the turret will inevitably become big if it is a drum magazine type, so there are no examples other than this AMX - 13 in the automatic loading mechanism in tanks. However, if self-propelled guns are shooting from behind, there is no problem even if it gets bigger. Also, since it is possible to mount an automatic loading mechanism at low cost, it seems that adoption of this method was not bad. However, there are no examples of adopting this system for self-propelled guns of other countries. The reason is that there are still many disadvantages, so it is easy to break if foreign objects get clogged, and although this is the biggest disadvantage, the number of bullets that can be installed decreases because of the automatic loading mechanism that takes up capacity. In addition, the number of bullets carried by the 75-type self-propelled grenade gun is 28 in total, 9 in the drum magazine and 10 in the car. There are the same number of charges and 56 funnels are loaded why the fuse is loaded. Should I quickly load only bullets and gunpowder from outside the car?

Although the vehicle is not as light as 25.3 tons, the car body and turret are all made of aluminum alloy and are finished as light as possible. There are not many even if it is attacked by tanks and cannons, but there is no problem because the shooting from the back is the subject. However, there is no crossing capability. Was not it a problem of this neighborhood?

Compared with the 74 type self-propelled grenade gun that was developing at the same time, adoption was delayed by one year due to the improvement of the above mechanism etc. It was officially named "75-inch 155 mm self-propelled grenade gun" in October 1955. Originally it was about 5 a year, but due to the subsequent increase in defense expenses, it reached an annual output of 30 in the peak period. Total number of production was 201 for both Japan and self-propelled guns of the Japan Self Defense Force. Synchronous 74-style self-propelled guns are in contrast to the fact that there are only 20 productions because there is not much power as 105 mm cannon. Only Hokkaido and Mt. Fuji who have tank divisions are deployed. Although I want all special subjects, I can not deploy this 75-type self-propelled grenade gun with a unit price of 290 million yen so much, and in the Showa 58 era FH 70 which can be said as the definitive version of a towed self-propelled cannon to the SDF There are also points that have been deployed. This FH 70 is also because the maximum towing speed is 100 km, the range is also normal, 24 km, and the rocket assisted bullet is 30 km, which is considerably higher than the 75 type self-propelled grenade cannon.

The 75-type self-propelled grenade guns did not adopt rocket-assisted bombs with poor hit accuracy, so the range of 19 km was the standard at the time of adoption, but the ranges came short when it came in the 1990s. In 1998, therefore, a new 155 mm self-propelled grenade gun was developed and deployed. Although the details of this new self-propelled grenade gun have not been announced, it is said to be able to fly 30 kilometers even if ordinary ammunition because of 52 long caliber barrel. Although it will be deployed and converted to this new self-propelled grenade gun one by one, it seems that 75 years self-propelled grenade guns will continue to be deployed about 20 years ago.

Development of the Japanese Type 75 self-propelled howitzer began in 1969. First prototype was built in 1971. This artillery system entered service with the JGSDF in 1975. Production of the Type 75 ceased in 1988 with a total of 201 howitzers built. The Type 75 was not exported, as Japan's laws do not allow to export military equipment. The Type 75 is now gradually replaced by the Type 99 self-propelled howitzer.

This self-propelled artillery system is fitted with indigenous 155-mm / L30 howitzer, fitted with an autoloader. It fires standard and rocket-assisted HE-FRAG projectiles, smoke and illumination projectiles. This howitzer is compatible with all standard NATO 155-mm ammunition. Maximum range of fire is 19 km with standard HE-FRAG round and 24 km with rocket assisted round. Maximum rate of fire is 6 rounds per minute.

Secondary armament consists of 12.7-mm machine gun, mounted on top of the roof.

Aluminum armor of the Type 75 provides protection against small arms fire and artillery shell splinters. It is fitted with an NBC protection and automatic fire suppression systems.

The Type 75 SPH uses a number of automotive components of the Japanese Type 74 main battle tank. Vehicle is powered by the Mitsubishi 6 ZF diesel engine, developing 450 horsepower.

I think that I've written it in the explanatory note of the Division Division many times, but even now in the ground combat between the regular forces the fire power is thing. Although it is a cannon like firepower, actually casualties in battle are more battle situation and regional, but mostly there are more casualties from bombardment than shoots. Speaking of textbooks as a way to attack, it is a charge by striking opponent positions by bombardment, but the defense side is mostly confused when an infantry attacks, so it seems that it would be withdrawing without much resistance if it is a normal field warfare level . Anyway, it is not only baseball that the far gun is important (mystery).

75SHIKIJ.jpg

75 Formula self-propelled 155mm howitzer

75SHIKIJ.jpg

75 type self-propelled 155 mm howitzer was developed at the same time as the 74-type self-propelled 105 mm howitzer as the successor to the M52 105 mm self-propelled grenade artillery gun, M44 155 mm self-propelled grenade gun that was previously paid by the US military. It is currently the leading Ground Self Defense Force self - propelled howitzer.

Partial prototyping started in 1969, and in 1971 the whole trial production is proceeding.

Technical tests since 1972, then practical tests were carried out, and in October 1975 it was formulated as "75 self-propelled 155 mm howitzer".

A total of 201 are produced and are deployed in each division special regiment of the Northern Territory Corps, namely the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 11th Special Regiment Regiment and Special Teaching Corps.

The car body is in charge of development by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has a welding structure of ballistic aluminum plate for the purpose of strengthening and lightening the ballistic capability, but it can not float like the 74-type self-propelled 105 mm howitzer.

The front right side of the body is a pilot seat, the front left side is the engine room, the engine is equipped with ZF series air-cooled 2-stroke diesel, the power shift system is adopted as the transmission, the hydrostatic type is adopted as the steering unit ing.
In order to suppress the total height of the leg around the foot adopts a system without upper support wheels, the induction wheel is grounded to lengthen the contact length, and the vehicle body stability is aimed at shooting.

The main gun 's 155 mm howitzer is the first complete domestic cannon as a middle cannon, and the development is the Japan Steel Works.

The barrel length is 30 calibers, with a spiral closure machine and a posterior variable chaotic liquid pressure restorer.

The closing machine is opened manually only at the initial loading, and thereafter it is automatically released using recoil at the time of firing.

The elevation angle is about -5 to + 65 degrees, and the elevation is performed by hydraulic pressure.
A collimator is used instead of the traditional stick aiming for aiming.

Also on the right side of the top of the turret is a panoramic sighting machine called "J2 type", the magnification is 4 times, the field of view is 10 degrees.

Also, as a feature, a digital display device of directional specifications is provided.

The bulletproof aluminum turret that will be handled by the Japan Steel Works can turn around the entire circumference, and in the case of power turning by hydraulic pressure, 360 degrees turn can be done in about 30 seconds.

Besides, it is possible to manually operate both elevation and turning, and it is possible to switch between high speed / low speed two steps for turning.

Maximum range is set to 19,064 m with a combination of a 75 type grenade (long range bullet) with a newly developed bullet weight of 43.5 kg and a special ninth medicine.

The muzzle initial velocity at this time is 720 m / sec.

On the rear part of the turret, two drum-type magazines containing nine bullets are mounted side by side on the left and right, and the bullet can be automatically loaded by the telescopic loading tray and lamar in the center.

Regarding wearing of fuses and measurement, it can be done even when it is stored in this drum.

The fuse is able to accommodate a total of 56 shops, in four containers on the left and right inside the battlefield, for 14 shots per piece.
Bullet loading is done in the following cycles.

First, the hydraulically driven clamp disengages, and the bullet drops into a single loading tray.

Next the loading tray carrying the bullet advances to the artillery, and part of it is manually extended to the back of the artillery ring.

Next, the loader on the loading tray is lowered to the axis position of the gun barrel, the hydraulically driven lamber stretches and pushes the bullet into the bomb. Finally, all the devices return to their original positions to prepare for the loading of the next bullet.

The cycle as described above is repeated, and each of the nine bullets contained in two drums, a total of 18 bullets are loaded on the machine. Normally, the charger corresponding to the shooting range is loaded by the loader, and the closing machine is closed to firing.
Although the operating angle of the automatic loading device is fixed at about 6 degrees, the automatic loading device has an automatic restoring device that automatically raises and lowers the gun barrel at the loading position with one switch.

The launch speed is set at about 6 shots / minute at the maximum. There are 10 bullets to carry and 28 shots from 18 in the loading drum, and 10 charges are also charged in the turret, 8 out of the right side of the battlefield and 28 shots from 10 on the left side To carry.

75 type self-propelled 155 mm howitzer had first-class performance at the time of development, but now it has become obsolete, renewal is proceeded with a new 99-inch self-propelled 155 mm howitzer, and by March 2014 All the cars were retired.

although I am unsure how willing the devs will be about MLRS and modern SPH, I like these and kinda want to see them ingame.

still gonna have to eyeball everything though, which is fine.

I don't see why not. Although if they are added I expect to see similar MLRSs and artillery vehicles for other nations.

More reasons to play the underpowered is adequate

If this is added the brits are going to have a hard time reproving themselves lul :3

The British/Commonwealth will just bring out the Abbot and the Valkiri if this comes.

Sorry but I hope such things won't be added into the game, there is no use for those in the game.

Edit : cannot vote no at the first question without answering something at the others, this will make the results false,  next questions need an option " i voted No at 1st question "

I'd rather see Developers spending precious development time modelling an actual useful tank, rather then this troll derp tank meant to attack primarily with indirect fire everything on the ground except MBTs.

Also you should add in the poll the "No" option in all questions.

They should; this just to make sure they have no shortage

There is (the one with the anime face); the rest are Qs about BR placement and personal opinion.

I see, but why should I choose the BR or "Which vehicle are you most looking forward to?" if I'm looking for none of those two listed? I'm forced to answer at all questions if you are wondering.

Because the majority of the playerbase wouldn't mind having them added and it if you had a choice once that happens you would.......your choice ;)

Do these have direct fire capabilities? Does the SPH even have armor-piercing shells? If no, then no.

Both do (like the Calliope and German SPGs). :yes_yes_yes:

IIRC the devs have already confirmed that artillery vehicles such as this will not be implemented. Besides, the maps in GF are far too small for it

Well there are ideas floating around the community of having 8-hour battles with NPC/player "spotter" or scout tanks calling for artillery on marked enemies 3-7km away on maps based around tactical objectives.......

Call me a sceptic but I doubt GJ will implement that at any point in the future. Every update brings another variation of the urban close quarters knife-fight (quite frankly it's very boring playing this same basic 3 kill-corridor map design too).

Gaijin are relying on the fast-paced action of tiny 3x3km maps to pull customers in, rather than the slow burning thrill of larger maps. It's a shame, I wish I could play the larger maps more- however such vehicles would require a special event and map rotation to be viable.

Besides, the current artillery system is fine. It's spammable but the dispersement of shots balances it out.

I feel while small close quarters maps work for low tiers and as a "hook" for a larger audience in low-mid tiers, top tier needs a huge map overhaul, and increasing map size (like, full scale) would definitely work in line with top end players, who are already dedicated enough either by time or finances to invest in WT at a top tier level. full scale maps are therefore a logical design choice if not the immediate next step to fixing T5; T5 vehicles were historically designed for longer engagement distances, most T5 problems lie in terrible map design (and the stock grind grind, oh god the grind). the answer is therefore fixing maps (and the grind, oh god the grind).

Yeah I tend not to grind past 120,000RP (BR 6.3) unless I'm really into the Tier 5 stuff, but generally speaking, GF grinding starts getting ridiculous after 61,000-89,000RP (BR 5.3/5.7). :p:

No argument there; a lot of my own tanks are best used at range & on flanks and so few maps allow me to successfully carry out that role.

at face value alone: i'm for the type 75 SPH but not the MRLS.

i'm against the MRLS as these vehicles... just don't make sense. both as ingame vehicles and IRL. now if those missiles were guided that'd be different (though it'd still be shot down)... but as seen with the soviet katyusha/T-60 hybrid tank and how much of a joke it is, and the panzerwerfer which is slightly less comical and a tad bit more usable, purely MRLS vehicles just don't work in WT.

as for the SPH... does it have any kind of anti-tank ammunition? HEAT-FS? APFSDS? APHE? anything like that? because it just can't work if it can't fit as a REALLY beefed up Ferdinand.

ammo issues aside, something i gotta point out to my fellow forumites: check that vertical/horizontal traverse. (-5/+65 and 360 degree rotation) if it can blow your brains out from point plank range, it can be a direct fire vehicle, and this beast can even rotate it's doomsday cannon so it's not just even a ferdi/elefant-style casemate TD.

(though in all fairness this is moot point if the type 75 SPH lacks any kind of dedicated anti-tank shells)
