ground vehicles Brenus armour package for AMX-30B2

I want to suggest the Brenus ERA armour pack for the AMX-30B2.

looking through the Techtrees, every 8.7 MBT has a gimmick:

M60A1 RISE PASSIVE: Stabilizer, ERA, APFSDS
TYPE 74: Stabilizer, Hydro-Suspension, APFSDS
T-55A: Stabilizer, engine-smoke, APFSDS
(im excluding the Chieftain Mk.5 (Stabilizer and best standard ammo which you dont have to research(stock)) here cause with its current performance its not worthy to be a 8.7 imo, but thats an other topic)

The AMX-30B2 only has APFSDS. The Brenus ERA would give it a real chance of fighting 9.0 vehiecles due to the increased Armour protection against HEAT and ATGM's

Yeah, I agree, all of the other tanks have some kind of gimmick, but the AMX-30B2 has none, and there's currently only one vehicle with ERA, expanding that to two would be a nice step in the right direction.

This is nice and all and would make a great addition to War Thunder. But ERA really isn't going to do much to change the performance of the AMX-30B2, HEAT-FS and ATGM's aren't meta anymore. APDS and APFSDS is now the meta for top tier, which ERA does nothing against.

you will face 95% of the time MBT/KPZ-70 on maps like Kursk, Fulda or Maginot it helps a lot. i have played the B2 for a week now, believe me if i say that it will help

I for one would love to see this being added for this tank. I think the tanks that may have gotten the ERA armour package should be given it in game as a researchable module/upgrade.

I would love to see all tanks at 8.7 go to 8.3 and only tanks with add on armor be 8.7.

the BRENNUS amelioration also included the replacement of the Hispano engine for a more powerful 750hp MACK engine to keep the mobility of the tank

so it's one point towards the addition as a separate vehicle

I voted for the ERA as a researchable module however I'd like to add that it would have to come with the MACK engine as Evil_Wolf pointed out.

If the LOVA (LOw Vulnerability Ammunition - MURAT), non-sympathetic detonation and single module reaction characteristics could be realistically modeled in-game, I would certainly unlock this, as a modification to the AMX-30B2, before unlocking the current ERA mod for the M-60 RISE. Overall, a very good suggestion that may be possible.

I think having a 3rd competitive tank at BR 8.0 is dearly needed. Currently, I use the AMX-50 Surbaissé. Although I love it and it is an excellent tank at BR 7.7, it struggles to compete with many tanks at BR 8.0+, although it can kill most.
Hence my vote for a new tank at BR 9.0

One reason I could see why they wouldnt add it is because the BRENNUS was from 1995 and the engine replacements started in 1998. But dont get me wrong I am all for it. Just saying.

I think your time period point is a little moot considering we are getting the Challenger I now.

I see your point in that time doesnt matter, technology does. But still Challenger I went into service in 1983 while the BRENNUS upgrade happened in 1995 by which time Challenger II was already replacing Challenger I. Thats more than 10 years.

i'm for the brenus package in any way, but more in favor of an AMX-30B2 (Brenus) being its own tank at 9.0. its powerful APFSDS being as penetrative as it is and as this would be a direct analogue of the M60A1 RISE (P).

As far as I know, the APFSDS-T shell we have ingame was nerfed after the dev server by almost 100mm of penetration.

So IF that gets fixed then itndefinitely isn't a 9.0 tank in my opinion.
