This is just an Idea I've had to create a tech tree for the commonwealth nations, specifically Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Pakistan and South Africa. It stretches from the interwar period to the modern day, and contains 27 Australian Tanks, 25 Australian Aircraft, 8 New Zealand Tanks, 10 New Zealand Aircraft, 32 Canadian Tanks, 19 Canadian Aircraft, 12 Indian Tanks, 9 Indian Aircraft, 14 South African Tanks, 13 South African Aircraft, 10 Pakistani Tanks and 4 Pakistani Aircraft.

Ground Tree: 5af17f73b45d4_Commonwealthgroundtree.thu

Air Tree: 5af17f9acd3e1_ScreenShot2018-05-08at8_44

As you can see, Australia and Canada both get their own lines in both the air and ground trees. South Africa, Pakistan, India and New Zealand mostly relied on other nations for combat vehicles and aircraft, so they usually get lumped in with each other.

Australia's ground and air trees are mostly filled with Indigenous designs, and the few that aren't are mostly indigenous modifications such as the CAC CA-18 Mustang and CAC CA-27 Sabre, which were license built versions of the respective aircraft. The Sabre in particular had a new Rolls-Royce Avon engine and a different set of armaments. In fact, the only non-australian vehicles in the "Australian" branches are the Gloster Meteor, M3 Grant, Centurion mk. 5, Centurion mk. 5/1 (both of which are technically Australian modifications), Leopard 1A3 Assassin and the M1A1 Abrams. Canada's Air branch is mostly filled with lend-lease or license built aircraft, with a few originals towards the end. The ground branch starts out strong with original designs, but eventually creeps into foreign designs, or Canadian-modified designs in case of the Leo C1.

South Africa's Air branch is mostly foreign aircraft, but at least has a few original designs at the beginning. Fortunately, South Africa's tanks are almost entirely original designs or modifications. The only copy here is the Comet B.

India has almost no WWII designs at all and mostly focuses on the Cold War era. That being said, they vary from using British designs, to Soviet ones, and then deciding to do it themselves at the end. India's air forces, as little as they are, are mostly original though.

New Zealand's tanks are almost entirely foreign. But, at least there's a few original designs and modifications scattered about. Also the only original Kiwi aircraft is the BAC Strikemaster, which they didn't even build..

Finally, Pakistan. Pakistan is the same as India, using American designs with dutch parts (for some reason) then going to the Chinese, and then doing it themselves. Their air branch wasn't enough to make a full branch, and it's entirely made of Chinese Aircraft, but at least it's there.

Well I can support this, however, Canada it's self is capable of supporting it's self on all three fronts of units, oddly enough. I've got a list of most vehicles for ground forces here, that should be fairly complete, I don't mean to be a nuisance by mentioning this list, it's just that it should be helpful for anybody who may want to know what there was.

I saw a list like this when I was poking around the forums making this thing. I spent an eternity looking for the Neno light tank, but I guess It doesn't exist. I tried to include most of what's there, although I did see some new stuff. I didn't know Canada wanted some of our AC tanks. Canada is fully capable of it's own tree n the ground and in the air, but I personally think it's be better for a mega tree for all the nations of the commonwealth, seeing as Canada is literally the only commonwealth nation capable of supporting itself and the rest rely on each other.

yeah. I'll see if i can recover the sources I've used to have for the vehicles that have something like "FIND024/53758" on em'.
I've used to have them but I gathered most of their information while using a chrome book that I no longer have, its just a pain to find where the archive is online atm.

Well, I've added links to the archives alongside the vehicles that are applicable, that took a few hours to do. However It is needed to request them directly to gain access to further information other then what the links provide.

I would totally support this. The Commonwealth would certainly be an interesting tech tree.

Although it would be very marginal you could add Ireland to the ground force list since they did modify some tanks.

Interesting idea. I would like this - though I would like some way for the Indian and Pakistan forces to fight each other, as they had some epic tank engagements. So different trees for them.

Even though i supported a commonwealth tree with Great britain, gaijin already banned some commonwealth-vehicles in the GBs trees premium section and they don´t show any interests to bring some regular ones in the GB tree (e.g they choosed the Vickers MBT, a tank that was not developed for and not used by Great Britain over the indian Vijayanta). So i see no other possibilitiy to see some of those vehicles

the Vijayanta is not actually a Vickers MBT Mk.1 even if they are nearly identical. the gun is a up-graded variant and there is a few internal difference on the Vijayanta. the Vicker MBT mk 1 wasn't used anywhere once we put them appart to the Vijayanta. even if the put the Vijayanta in the implemented section after they added the vickers Mk.1, i think it is not yet implemented.

for your tree. i know they wasn't totally dependent yet but the Indian airfield used many Hawk 75 under the name of Mohawk. they was mostly french planes who didn't reach France before France fall. they was not 100% finished but they had the engine and the frame finished. only the pilot sit and armament was missing. the British took those french planes, fitted them with .303 machine-gun and used those planes in the colonies such as south Africa and India. they also retained the Chinese Hawk 75A-5 in India after the Chinese moved their production in India to keep it out of reach from the Japanese. those plane was assembled from part shipped from USA which mean technically, India produced those planes.

it would be nice to consider the sherman D-56

M4A4-D56-T.jpg

It's a indian modification of the sherman with the same gun found on the Pt-76

they also use the French gun Sa-50 like those french sherman in the game

I included the Sherman D56-T in the tree under the name "M4A4 D56-T", it is quite a unique tank. I'd probably consider putting the SA-50 one in the tree, too

Ground Tree: -snip-

First of all, any references of the Black Prince (assuming the A.43 Black Prince, which is currently in game as a tier 4 premium) was used by Canada? as far as I know only six were made and only trialled within the UK (though would need to double check the one book I've got which covers it, going off top of my head).

And unfortunately I can't support a Commonwealth tech tree which doesn't include the UK, seeing as it's still part of the Commonwealth, however I do support a combined British Commonwealth tree as shown by the mock tree I've done which attempts to fit in non-British Commonwealth designs into the known restrictions imposed on tech trees (eg. no more than five lines per tree).

It's a good idea, but this tree seems still a few too many copy-paste.

I think we need to check all of member states in Commonwealth (include former) to see if there is any vehicle we can use.

For example, Singapore:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equipment_of_the_Singaporean_Army

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equipment_of_the_Republic_of_Singapore_Navy

or we still have plan B , just like PRC vehicles is better to be put into USSR tree. :D

The black prince is based on the fact that Canada was supposed to get them in the same way they were supposed to get Churchill Gun Carriers, but didn't because A): the Black Prince design had become redundant due to the introduction of the Centurion and B): Vauxhall threw a hissy fit over having to export it. Think of it like the Canadian Heavy Tank no. 6. (Canada also ordered some AC I Sentinel and AC III  Thunderbolt tanks for Australia, but they never went through either).

Was digging through the Australian War Memorial archives, found this: A Chevrolet 4x4 20 cwt truck with a captured 20mm Breda 35 AA gun. As far as I can tell, this is Australia's only SPAA to date.

There is some other Australian truck mounted AAA. I know there was a few variations of 40mm, and I think a triple mount 2x20mm and a Bren. There's bound to be a few more
