French Modern Camouflage

2 more french moderns camouflages are coming with the 1.81patch.
The FORAD "CENTAC" camouflage (black and blue)  and falsely named just FORAD in the Dev server
The FORAD "CENZUB" camouflage (urban camouflage, the middle one in the pic)

 

But where is the most important one? The "Centre-europe" camouflage (CCE)?
For vehicles it's a 3-tons camouflage with NATO colours and was introduce in 1991. It's the regular camouflage for french vehicles.
For the game you can add it for AMX 30B2, AMX 30B2BRENUS, AMX 30 DCA et AMX 40.

The second one is the "DAGUET" camouflage. It's a desert camouflage introduce in 1989 and who equiped the french vehicles in the gulf war.
For the game you can add it for AMX 30B2, AMX 30B2BRENUS, AMX 30 DCA et AMX 40 as well.

But sometimes it seems a bit darker, perhaps a second skin named DAGUET as well or due to usury. I don't know.

Part of that is because for a long time it was the individual units that painted the vehicles, so a lot of variations until it became standardized

 

But yes, more skins for the French tanks!  I love all of these and think they would make a nice addition to my joy in driving them

With the incoming AMX 10 RC, Centre Europe and Daguet camouflages have a new candidate !

 

The Centre Europe is slightly different from the NATO 3-tons ; green especially is more a "green meadow", brown is lighter, black is maybe a bit lighter too.

For Daguet , the second picture is the best one. The color's usury has made the brown darker.

NATO camo appeared in french vehicles arround 1988-1989, a two tone Brown and sand camo, was widely used on Daguet in 1991, but also for the continuous African deployements.

As result, even on European theaters lot of vehicles wore this desert suit, applied on previous deployments.

A Renault light truck wearing this two tone camo, besides a VLRA Acmat light truck wearing the NATO three tone camo in Kosovo June 1999.

Another example here in République de Côte d'Ivoire in 2004 crisis.

A 2e REP (Foreign Legion Airborne) patrol mounted on Peugeot P4; the first one is wearing the Brown and sand two tone pattern, while the second is wearing the standard three tone NATO camo.

So, the Leclerc will arrive soon and it appears that the CCE camo still hasn't been included for tanks while it is there for helicopters. Instead we have the CARC which was, to my knowledge, never used on french modern vehicles.

You're right. Before the CCE, French tankers would put some mud over the vert armée (green army) to create their camo. 

The CARC has never been used by the French army.

Definitely support, and I really hope the Leclerc actually gets at least ONE camouflage it actually uses, since from the dev it didn't look like that was the case.

I've seen on WT Live a correct three tones camo for the Leclerc "Trompe la Mort" by Skydread.

It's weird that a guy doing skins on his free time manages to make a correct model while the devs are having troubles figuring out colours.

You're giving devs too much credit here; they're just recycling the same colors and skins that have been in the game since the French tech tree came out, with the addition of the incorrect CARC camouflage from the German tree.

I don't know. Maybe the Moderator simply saw that this suggestion wasn't about CENTAC and CENZUB and fixed his mistake.
