About No.7 class torpedo boat

This is Japanese torpedo boat launched 1957.

In 1950 JMSDF build No.1, 3 and 5 class, but it not get enough speed. They have only two engines, but this have 3-engine 3-shaft, it hull use Aluminum as No.3 class and it hull bottom sonar shape modified so it get 33 knots!

But it design was experimental one, so build only two (No.7 and No.8 torpedo boat)

No.7 torpedo boat was used for test ship of Gus-turbine engine.

In-game performance

■Total

It speed is not enough, but it have only 2x Bofors 40mm L/60 so it seems bit difficult to fought against high-BR torpedo boats.

■Fire power

To front or rear it can fire only 1x 40mm L/60, but to sides it can fire 2x 40mm L/60.

There aren't other MG, but Bofors is very effective weapon when fought against small boats. Well, it'll be alright.

■Torpedo equipment

Experimental Type 54 torpedo is electric battery Passive acoustic homing torpedo for torpedo boat, destroyer and submarines. This is the first torpedo that Japanese design. Project started 1952, and completed in 1959.

It have 4x 533mm HO-101 torpedo tube for Experimental Type 54 torpedo, so better than Japanese torpedo boats before it.

Also it have 2x mousetrap anti-sub rocket, so it have chance to destroy enemy gunboats on the front of this.

■Speed

Not a good: only 33 knots ≒ 61 km/h

But compared to other MTB in Japan, it speed is better than most of them.
