What about adding bombing raid missions in War Thunder in which players will have to bomb entire cities?

But I remember some PSP game in which there is a mission to bomb an entire town. Its name is Air Conflicts: Aces of WWII

A PSP game actually, that wasn’t a GJ title. For GJ to maintain the 12+ rating that they want, bombing of civilians is out. Note that they always talk about not adding infrantry due to that? Also note that you never die in WT, just get knocked out.

That does not mean we could not have bombing run scenarios. They just need to be modified a bit. We could easily have an event involving, as an example, the English Channel. Have the Brits or the Germans, fly their bombers on a run over the Channel.

Targets could be factories, rail yards, docks, etc. GJ could create some nice targets.

Stupid governments use chemical bombs on innocent children and say not to put such in games....

Your crew member took an exploding 152mm shell to the face? Don't worry, he's just "knocked out". He'll be fine after a nap :lol2:

First of all, governments don't rate videogames. Organizations like the ESRB in North America and PEGI in Europe are independent, they don't depend on any government and their rating system is voluntary. Second, Gaijin chose to maintain a 12+ rating to increase their market opportunity, including certain types of violence would increase their rating to 15+ or 17+ (whether that would be a good thing or not is subject for another discussion). And lastly, bombing cities would be considered of bad taste by many people, historically accurate or not. Gaijin is unlikely to change their stand on that issue, so your point is completely moot.

The 12+ rating is sort of dumb for a war game imo, and I don't know any 12 year olds who would be interested in this type of game. Call of Duty is more their style and that game is rated M:laugh:

I certainly heard enough of them on teamspeak back when I used to play that game.

As for the bombing cities thing that would never fly. Raids on factories however should be just fine, and would be really cool. One team would fly their bombers within an AI formation or play as an escort fighter and the other team would attack the formation in fighters and interceptors alongside AI aircraft.

That's not a good idea. It's way to controversial, and would draw some serious negative press. War Thunder has, for the most part, avoided that kind of stuff in game. There would be a lot of people that wouldn't mind it, but, there'd also be a lot of people that would absolutely flip over this. The game would go from rated twelve, to rated mature, along with other harsh effects.

Bomber gameplay isn't looked at well anyways. It would be a lot of trouble to create a mode/ mission for a category of aircraft that isn't really well liked.

Personally, I don't see the fun in annihilating civilians from forty-thousand feet.

There are more than you think. My son started playing this game at 13 when it came out. Had it come out sooner, he would have played. But he is a WWII buff and loves planes and tanks.

And it should not be implemented that way. It sucked in RL and it would in game as well.

Honestly I spend lost of time testing my bombloads or simply relaxing by carpet bombing berlin, but I dont think this should be an official feature. About the 12 + thing well, I kinda agree there are many toxic kids but after all wt is losing players and I think it wouldnt be good if it lost more so lets keep warcrimes outta this game

Same but watching all those buildings collapse is fun. The fab 5000 hitting berlin is amazing even seen from the bomber itself lol

you guys are a bit uncreative.

if you want bombing raids on city's but not kill civilians then just use industrial centers instead  there are literal city sized ones. For example the BASF Werke in Germany, it spans around 10km² and is only comprised out of chemical plants and refineries. would surly make some nice fireworks if you carpet bomb it.

Spoiler

BASF at dawn:

also as gameplay mechanic you could add a penalty for bombing actual housing since its right next to the city of Manheim.

It’s Dresden all over again :burned:

Seriously though although I think cities is poor taste I would like to see some proper ‘military tactical targets’ other than some tents in a field. How about train stations or factories? A large bridge would be cool too.
