North American B-25H Mitchell

History & Background

The North American B-25 Mitchell introduced in 1941 served throughout the Second World War in every theatre, including the Pacific and East Asia. It could bring a total of 12-18 guns plus a 75mm cannon alongside a multitude of bombs or rockets in a gunship like role. The main difference with the H model is the different cockpit, with the Co-Pilot position being removed in order to save and balance weight. A twin engined medium bomber with a capable bombload, decent range and a production run of over 10,000 units (1000+ H models), it was soon acquired and operated by the Chinese American Composite Wing (CACW) during the latter years of the war. It would serve in action both against the Japanese and also latterly in the Civil War that was to follow for both sides. Having been left behind on airfields following the eventual withdrawal of the Nationalist Forces, some aircraft would be captured by the advancing PLA and subsequently put into service with the PLAAF. Sadly for both sides with limited stocks and limited spare parts the aircrafts service life was not particularly long and they would eventually be cannibalised and phased out of service.

In Warthunder the B-25H would serve as a welcome addition and variant for the Chinese Tech Tree that was often used for the vast majority of the 1940's. As a more ground attack orientated version it would provide a change of playstyle, perhaps even as a premium or event vehicle in the future.

The B-25 was the most common bomber of the Republic of China Air Force, so id love to see more variants of it in-game +1

While we've had similar aircraft in other trees, I think the B-25H would be a welcome addition to the Chinese Tech Tree as well. It would serve as a good filler in the attacker line to reduce research costs and such for other vehicles and also as reasonable low-mid BR grinder. Or alternately a halfway decent premium. Not sure how many people would jump to buy it as a premium, but if it were cheap or used as a war bond vehicle I could see it having some popularity.
