F-104G

Hi everyone,

today I bring to you the suggestion for the Italian F-104G.

 

 

I think that this aircraft would have a nice place in game because would give to Italy a nice back up aircraft for an hypnotetical Italian top tier lineup, also, this aircraft would be a great stepping stone to get to the F-104G.

This Aircraft is an export and modified version of the F-104 that was sold to different nations, the aircraft was born as a pure interceptor, but it got modiefied to fulfill the role of attacker, this brought to a high number of aircrafts lost in accidents.

In Italian service it saw less accident compared to the German Air Force, but it wasn't enough for the italian requirements, so it later got upgraded to the F-104S version.

The aircraft is capable of reaching Mach 2 and was the first aircraft in Italian service capable of doing so, unfortunately it had only AIM-9B as air to air IR missiles, the aircraft was also capable of carrying different air-to-ground weapons.

Why this vehicle should be in War Thunder?

The F-104G will be great as a backup for an Italian Top Tier aircraft in air arcade battle and mixed battles, it would also help to make the Italian tech tree more appealing by giving a wider number of aircrafts for Italy.

It would be also a good stepping stone before reaching the F-104S.

Only if the armament options are cleared up with no reasonable doubt left. Wouldn't want to take away anything unique about any of the versions that each nation fielded.

no that is on the G, the S never had flares or chaff.

Now that I think of it, it would be cool having the F-104G after the F-86K and the F-104S after the G.91YS.

It's a possibility, but I could see many players not being happy about it.
