PLA captured M4A3 76(w) and M26 Pershing

I am planning to start to suggestions on these two tanks, but I think it would be best for me to see what others think of this idea as well as gather more information on the usage of these tanks.

M4A3 76(W):

The M4A3 can be both added into the tech tree or as a premium, yet I think it will be more suitable as a premium, because china already have a decent 5.7 line up. Yet I personally still want to see it in game, and will be an interesting add like the Soviet M4A2. The history of the M4A3 in China is rather simple, these tanks has been captured during the korean war. Based on my research, I can not find any information that the PLA operated these machines, but since they are captured from the Korean war, there should still be testing done on these tanks.

M26 Pershing:

Same as the M4A3, the M26 Pershing is also captured during the Korean war, as well no documentation of being used in the military, but I think it is more possible than the M4A3 that this tank is tested after being captured. This tank though should not really be a premium due to the fact that the Chinese 6.3 line up currently is barely playable, due to that there is only the IS 2 1944, Type 63 (Bad Reload and No armour), and the SU 100 (Bad Armour, Decent Gun). The type 63 is barely useful, while the SU 100 is rather situational, the IS 2 1944 can be considered the only decent tank but is too slow and the amour is barely useful. The Pershing sits at 6.3 and would be a decent tank to slightly beef up the Chinese 6.3 tank line up with decent armour and a Decent Gun.

These are only my opinion, feel free to comment on you ideas, suggest alternatives, as well as contribute materials and information, Thank you. Once I get enough information, I will make a formal suggestion on the vehicles.

It’s unlikely that the M4A3 and M26 would be placed in the Chinese Tree. Like you said there is currently no proof it being put in to service in a short period but even if tested there is no reason for it to be in-game, it’s the exact reason why the T-62 No545 got removed and replaced by Type 69G II it was purely for testing and nothing else.

Also if there happend to be an document of use then it mostly will be an event of premium vehicles.

I think that was more to do with the outrage from the Russian community. No545 was the tank of a war hero who died at the hands of China after a final stand. They shot at Soviet soldiers who tried to recover the damaged tank and dead crew which is a big no no in the Military community especially when it's recovering the dead. Then they paraded the destroyed tank around for a while before putting in a museum. It was just a stupid move at every turn for Gaijin especially when they just copy pasted the existing T-62 model without making any changes that were present on the irl vehicle which made it seem like more of a cash grab. While captured tanks/planes aren't really issue, attaching a name to it is just in really poor taste.

Either way I don't really see any reason why China should get an M4A3 or M26. They don't really add anything interesting to the tech tree and for lower rank vehicles I would rather see more variants of the Type 62 such as the Type 59-16 or later ones like the Type 62-I or Type 62G.

Yeah... I kinda expected this, because I feel that gaijin now is getting much more serious with historical accuracy, so even though I personally think it is an interesting and fun add, I don't think gaijin will do it.

True, but the reason I don't really like the type 62 is that it really lacks armour, and I don't really want anymore new vehicles with HEATFS to join a 6.7 fight, it feels weird. Also regarding what you said about the 545, I think it is really interesting to hear. It is all just about perspectives, the perspective you are on depends on how you think of the tank. It is understandable why the Russian community had an outrage on the 545, but as I am Chinese, it is a completely different view that I would like to share:

The reason that the 545 was captured was because of the Zhenbao Island Incident, which is a soviet attempt to extend their borders into Chinese territory. This started off as a clash between the Chinese and soviet patrols, but quickly heated into a war. So to the Chinese, the crew of the 545 is no hero, but are instead the invaders. The reason the Chinese repelled soviet forces from recovering the tank is simple: the tank has crossed the border, and is on the Chinese side of the border. The soviet didn't  want the Chinese to have the T62 (Because it can be considered as one of the most advance tanks at the time), so they used artillery strikes to sink the tank into the frozen river. The tank was eventually towed up by the Chinese, and thats that. There is one thing you said that is inaccurate, and it is that the tank was paraded a while before placed into the museum. I'm not really sure if there are actual parades, only some photos of military personnel next to the tank, mainly because the tracks of the T62 is busted. The T62 did not go immediately into the museum after the capture, but is instead tested and examined by technicians. To the Chinese, the 545 is a trophy, not just any normal tank, because it tells the story of the Zhenbao Island incident, as well as provided the key technologies in developing the Type 69. This is simply a different perspective of the same story the Russian community told, and I must say that it almost sounds like a completely different story.

Sorry bruh, Type 59-16 is just a scale model made by wood, the propotype of this light tank is still classified and no one know it actually.

Type 62-I, I think this would be possible to be added into game, but need more data.

Type 62G, classified one.

Just to make things easier for those who are interested: I made a suggestion thread for the m4a3 a few years back, and did a few updates on the history aspect of the suggestion last year. However, I didn't get around to making a suggestion for the pershing yet.

Here is the post for the M4A3:
