"Wrath of Vesuvius" bp challenge makes AB planes basically unplayable

Title speaks for itself. For those not aware, this task is about killing 100 ground units with aircraft. Now, of course everyone wants to complete it in arcade, because there is no RB multiplier for the kills. 

They get it done fast, the only issue is if you want to play the game any other way than brainlessly shooting AI ground units, you are pretty much screwed. You want to grind fighter kills? Go for high kill counts? Just bomb bases? God forbid you play a plane that actually requires you to sideclimb? Well, you have the maximum of 5 minutes to do any of those things before the match ends due to entire teams jumping on defenceless, stationary pillboxes and artilleries, ending the match on tickets in a blink of an eye.

Again, a fine example of how little the devs care about (fighter) players who actually want to play the game based on skills, dogfighting and racking up huge PLAYER kill counts instead of playing a point clicker game and auto-win every time its not a domination map. Its already bad in air rb, but arcade? You know gaijin, some people still enjoys this game mode. There is absolutely no balance, not just between aircraft classes but plane models in general. Its been like this from years. There was not a single air AB tournament in the 10th birthday series, while realistic got 3 different types of just planes. Sim players were robbed just like us, with one goddamn tourney. Okay there are less players in arcade, but it was really necessary to remove all the other contests that were there for the previous ones, like VE day or Defender(naval, or air 1v1)?

I love this game mode. I love to dogfight three guys at once, either win or lose after a huge effort, i love to climb the leaderboards, 1v1ing actual good players, i love the feeling after winning a match on a tss tournament. There is not much you would have to do to make this game enjoyable for the, be honest, little, but existing portion of people interested in such stuff. Make a little bit more balance between the efficiency of attackers, bombers and fighters. I am not saying attackers/bombers should not have a big impact on the match. They should, but not to a degree where your fighter is almost useless in terms of win or lose the game.

give just a little bit more rewards for the tss tournaments (titles or decals for the daily, "little"ones; i am not saying instantly give 1v1 master duelist to a tournament winner, but for example make the requirement something like 3 or 5 1v1 tourneys won). All around just give it a little bit of spice which it is lacking for a very long time now.

I know not a single one of those things would ever happen and perhaps some mod is going to close this topic, but it just vent out. I hope i am not the only one who wants to save air arcade.

look at the screenshots, there are at least 6 to 10 people with bombs/rockets killing our tickets, probaly with a lot of crew slots and backups. Explain me how to kill all of them in 4-5 minutes with a single mg151 and a couple of mgs before they manage to win the game, while having to go to a very low altitude where you can get jumped by any enemy, and i will admit that i have a skill issue and this is balanced as it is.

I don't quite see your problem. Killing 100 ground units is just nothing. If you play for the objective, you have this done in very few matches. The regular warbond tasks create far more demand for ground kills on a daily basis too.

 

You first screenshot shows an organized 4-squad in the enemy team. They might do this everyday.

 

The other shots look quite normal. In fact, some of the planes used don't even qualify for the task. So the players don't farm that task.

I did 2 special tasks today, one I went 6 times for thunderer, with my best game 52 ground targets destroyed in a frontline map, and the other task was meteor shower, destroy 68 ground targets. On the last game I only needed another 3 ground targets, so I got 3, crashed, left game. Wrath of Vesuvius challenge was just done on the side when I did my dailies, as Dodo_Dud wrote, it shouldn't have much impact on anything.

I don't agree with the OP on this being a problem. Fighters exist because otherwise bombers and attackers get their objectives done (in real attack either military or civilian targets). To defend or attack. Problem is not that AB has unbalance but that in RB fighters are way to important.

 

But the screenshots show like half of the players doing ground targets, that is more then normal.

Now its fine, most people have it done, games are still short but at least not ending in 5 minutes.
