History:

Spoiler

Cardoen VTP-2 is a Chilean armored vehicle designed for different types of missions such as armored personnel carrier, command ambulance and anti-aircraft and can be mounted on a variety of weaponry such as turrets armed with 20 and 25 mm automatic cannons, a 12-gauge machine gun 7mm and twin 20mm anti-aircraft guns.

The vehicle was developed according to the demands of the Chilean Air Force.

The armor of the VTP-2 is welded and made of 6-8 mm thick steel armor plates. The front doors of the vehicle are for the commander and the driver and can be opened forwards and have windows made of bulletproof glass and can also be covered with armored shutters which further protects the driver and the commander.

The vehicle has 3 openings per side so that the personnel inside can shoot with personal weapons outwards. In the upper part there is a hatch for the exit of the personnel or for a variety of weapons to be mounted, as I mentioned before, although what stands out the most would be anti-aircraft.

At the front of the vehicle is the Daimler-Benz BD-OM 352 water-cooled six-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 88 kW. The manual transmission has eight forward speeds and four reverse. Four wheel disc brakes, Hutchinson 12.5x20 tires. The front wheels are steerable, a hydraulic booster is included in the control circuit.

this was a very little known project even for chile; cardoen industries never gave much information about their vehicles and their prototypes used to be very secret, so it is difficult to find information or even photos, It is presumed that they were sold to the Chilean Air Force for the protection of airfields. Photos that can be found of the vehicle include a KUKA turret with 25mm anti-aircraft gun mounted on top of the vehicle.

The VTP-2 Escarabajo, is the evolution of the VTP-1 Orca which has the distinction of having the highest passenger capacity of any modern APC, and is among the largest and heaviest ever built. It can transport 1 driver, 1 commander and 16 more men.

Personal Opinion:

Spoiler

I love the design of this armored vehicle, it's a super unknown vehicle and it's hard to find information about it or even find photos, but I think it would be fun to use in the game. It could be used as an anti-aircraft vehicle or as a light vehicle, although I'm not sure in which tech tree to put it or in which tier, perhaps in a future Latin American tree, so I would like to know your opinion and that you support me in my idea <3

+1 to all the heavily-armed variants (larger than 7.62mm)

the most powerful version is the one with the 105mm recoilless gun, chile operates the m40A1 so it must be that model, and the version that has the double anti-aircraft gun is the israeli TCM-20 that chile also operates

I also want to include the 30mm and ATGM carrier. They'd be good vehicles in a South America tree.

Only the KUKA turret one can be added. Photographic evidence is needed for the other variants.

I think that only those photos exist, I have even searched in Chinese and Russian forums and they are only with the 25mm oerlikon barrel, something is something. even so that cannon can do a lot of damage

That's unfortunate. Are there any Chilean military magazines? Maybe they have something.

It's not entirely outside the scope of possibility. The Chileans had mounted 20mm TCM turrets on Mowag Piranha APCs with success, I don't see why this would be any different.

Yeah I suppose there shouldn't be problems with adding this one but the rest will be hard to add.
