If only we could pull up some secret documents from seemingly nowhere.

Given how many top tier vehicles have statistics that would in reality be classified, I don't think this vehicle would be so far off the current standards this game currently has for vehicles to be added. That said, this vehicle definitely lacks a lot more detailed information than most, which may cause some issues. At the very least however, this vehicle has been built and there's even video footage, with some limited documentation, there have been vehicles added with less.

Not a whole lot of info to scavenge from these docs after they were marked up, but posting here anyways just for the little extra info that it might bring.

Unfortunately all the good stuff is redacted. Mostly stuff about vibration from the gun and vehicle away while firing in the first report (the one that takes place from 2002-2004). RIP hopes. But I also don't speak Japanese, Google translate only can take me so far.

I'm pretty sure that the CCV is based on a modified NBC recon chassis.

There's certainly strong similarities, which might help in narrowing down the specifications for the vehicle characteristics should they be known for the NBC recon chassis. Overall I'm hoping to see the CCV sooner rather than later, it fills a notable gap in capability for top tier Japan.

I think it's pretty much confirmed. The FCV universal chassis which was what the CCV is, includes a cabin variant.

From the wheel placement in that picture and the general specs, the NBC Recon is prob based on the C-1 or C-2 chasis.

The CV-40 can fit on any of the hatch types

but due to the A-2 in the picture's hatch style and it being right hand drive, the chassis shown in tests is likely the B-4 or B-6.

I would assume that the CCV is closer to the prototype NBC Recon, so that would put the put the top speed at 100km/h. It would prob be a good idea to look into the NBC more to find things like horsepower, transmission performance, etc.

Fair enough, that's good to hear then. This is a vehicle that's been on my mind for quite some time now.

There is also the distinct possibility that the CV-40AD gets revived through the MCV program as most of the CCV line has.

At least for the prototypes of the ICV and RCV they use Bushmaster Mk44s, but the end goal still looks to bring back a "CTA cannon". Japan has both the 40mm and 50mm CTA, but at least for a hypothetical AD version the 750+rpm 40mm makes much more sense than the 300rpm 50mm.

Did they plan on adding any sort of ATGM any of the 40mm/50mm armed vehicles? Could make for another decent vehicle to add after the Type 89 in the IFV line, especially if it uses the newer laser-guided one that would assumedly let it fire on the move like the Type 89 used to be able to do.

It's more like a cross between that, the Type-16 and the CV-90
