Hi guys.

Today i want to sugguest an "Eastern European International tech tree" in form of Poland, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. :)

Intermarium-2.jpg.445e09d4a297a1570908c9

Intermarium-tech-tree2.thumb.jpg.f618888

The Tree lineup

I tried to set up the line so that the vehicles follow as closely as possible to their individual nations in order to focus on a specific nation.

Even though Minor states may only have 4 tanks or have very big gabs i try to keeps them as closely aligned as possible. However this excludes Many tank destroyers i have put in a TD line to the right.

The historic concept of a Intermarium Alliance/Federation.

Spoiler

Throughout history nations such as Poland have constantly been thinking about how it can best be inderpendant from other major European powers such as Germany and Russia due to its important strategic locations on the northern European Plain. usally these nations such Poland or Romania have formed alliances with major powers such as the UK, France or Germany and Russia to counterbalance a Powerfull neighbour.

But at times an Alliance or Unity among these smaller nations happens such as the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth during the middle ages.

Polish Lithuanian commonwealth Wikidepedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish–Lithuanian_Commonwealth

But the idea of the 20th century Intermarium project was created in the by the Polish post WW1 leader Józef Piłsudski.

He believed that Poland should form a Federation of smaller eastern european nations into a major power in order to counter weight German and Russian influence in order to keep their independence. However as we all know this Project failed and Poland was Invaded in 1939 starting WW2.

However Today Poland has returned to reconcider Piłsudski plan of the Intermarium project which has been discussed by Polish, Romanian and US think tanks.

However if this concept is ever to be ever taken into practice. Nations such as Germany and Russia are full aware of this concept. And will most likely show strong opposition to have such a major power structure as a neighbour. Since in reverse will threaten them like the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth did before it.

Vehicles by nation.

If im able to find a previous sugguestion of a vehicle to this tree i will directly link to that! :)

Y E S !
Eastern Europe has very interesting vehicles, which I'd rather see grouped together in a way that makes some sort of sense than lumped together with either Soviets or Italians depending on the mood of the day. Tbh, they actually look much more interesting than Chinese vehicles  which don't get unique until Tier V.
Bonus point : in SB, they could very easily be on the axis side in low tier (sorry Poland :'( ) and on the Warsaw side in high tier.

there was another suggestion named minor axis nation / Warsaw pact who do just this but much more logically and complet

Poland was enemy of the other before the war and yougoslavia was enemy of the other after the war so why should they be in the same tree?

What about Ukrainian vehicles as well?  As they are not on the best of terms with the Russian Federation, and we apparently are going full modern, maybe this is a way to get Ukrainian vehicles?

T-64BM, T-64B with Kontakt-5

t80ud.jpg

T-80UD, T-80U with 1,000 HP Diesel engine.  Although this could be used by the USSR tree too, since the soviet army used them too.

300px-UkrainianT84Tank.jpg

T-84 MBT, improves T-80UD design.

Etc.

Plus some unmodified soviet equipment.

Well, there are still some gaps here and there (for example, it lacks content between 2.7 and 4.3), and there's still much work to be done, but this would make up a really good techtree with mostly unique and interesting vehicles. Do you plan to do a similar techtree proposal for planes, choppers and naval forces too?

I pesonally tried to avoid copy pasting too many variants of Panzers and T-34 tanks excluding the Bulgarian T4G and T-34. However these gabs can of course easily be fixed by putting them in! :)

Its like minor axis but with polland.

+1 from me.

If you need someone knowledgeable about Hungarian tanks than you need Hebime, altho he is been away from the forums for a while now..he has a lot of content on live and on the forum with the most up to date data, that will help for sure.

The 75mm TAS is Maus category when it comes to its development state, therefore it would be better as researchable. The 80mm gunned version that was ment to be massed produced is a premium type of tank..you can read more on it from Hebimes posts.

The Toldi with rockets, and the Zrinyi I with rockets are both built, tested prototypes and the Toldi might have even been used in combat.(as it was somewhere in Austria in the middle of nowhere ,where the american soldier photographed it)

The Krupp-protze was equipped with Hungarian At rockets and seen combat in the defence of Budapest. The Toldi AK prototype tank is a tank that would be an interesting premium(experimented with a lot of shurtzen armor).

Also either for premium or for hole filling Hungary used Tiger 1's and Panthers. One of our tank ace served on both of these type of tanks as commander.

Also..I love my polish brothers, but the Pl-01 is a modern-day prototype tank...who knows when it will see production or if it will ever....dont think that fits

Toldi AK (premium)

Zrinyi 75mm with rockets (premium?)

Toldi II LT with 44M. Buzogányvető anti-tank rocket launcher

Straussler V-4

Krupp with 44M. Buzogányvető anti-tank rocket launcher(researchable)

Spoiler

no photographs exist of it

s2.jpg2.0_Buzoganyveto_Krupp_Protze.jpg

The first prototype Buzogány HEAT rocket was finished and tested in the Spring of 1944. The largest diameter of the rocket was 215 mm, and with the cca. 4 kg explosive shaped charge in it, it was able to penetrate more than 300 mm of armour or concrete. This means that this rocket was able to destroy any kind of heavy tank of that time at 500-1200m distance.

A warhead flew with a speed of 200 km/h.

The weapon had such low ballistics that the aiming happened through the iron sights of a machine gun, and what is more important it did not had a smoke trail so the weapon could not be located after the first shot. The tri-pod version was the test weapon, the weapons given to the troops were all mounted on the wheels of looted Russian PM M1910 and SG-43 Goryunov machine guns.

Approximately 600-700 Buzogányvető systems were manufactured in the WM Factory before in 20 December 1944, when Soviet troops captured it. Nearly all manufactured rocket launchers were deployed and used in the siege of the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

This rocket system was either operated simply from the ground, or from Krupp Protze,or Rába Botond truck flatbeds and at least one was mounted on a Toldi II light tank.

And the 39.M csaba... i dont think that should be premium...that was a mass produced reconassance vehicle.

I love the concept but i prefer two Eastern European TT (One Balkans consisting of Yugoslavia and Romania and the other consisting of the V4 countries) instead of one big Eastern European TT since the Eastern European countries have enough native designs & unique variants of existing vehicles to create multiple Eastern European TT's.

In the case of Yugoslavia and Romania they have enough native designs & unique variants of existing vehicles (at least for Tanks, planes and helis to a lesser extent) to have their own individual TT's without restoring to copy-pasting or having massive gaps

much better than the Hungarian tanks being reduced to 2-3 samples as premiums in the Italian tech tree. And many nations can easily represent without having to copy pasta. win win for everyone.

yes im absolutely for this idea, there are many native designs, that while close to the Russians, are different enough to satisfy their own tech tree.

Poland was enemy of the other before the war and yougoslavia was enemy of the other after the war so why should they be in the same tree?

warsaw pact???? little entente

:lol2: Dont worry. i can assure you he loves yours too.

for me a minor axis and a Polland+hungary  are equally sweat ideas.... i think for me the favorite tech tree would be Polland+Hungary+Czechslovakia+Finnland, and than a Romania+Yugoslavia+Bulgaria+modern Ukrain. than we have a more German leaning "nation" and a more Soviet leaning "nation"

Interesting concept but you're missing quite a bit from Poland

  • Vickers Mk.E Type B
  • Renault R-35
  • Hotchkiss H-35
  • Somua S-35 (ordered, requisitioned due to French rearmament and replaced with R-35)
  • wz.29
  • 4TP
  • 9TP
  • 14TP
  • TKD (47mm)
  • TKS-D (37mm)
  • 75mm Działo Samobieżne PF621L
  • T-54AE

True. and there are some machines youre bringing that i think could work in my sugguestion :)

I think the 14TP may work. However i was personally not able to find strong english sources other than Tank Encyclopedia so maybe as an event machine it could be repesented! :)

http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/polish/14tp

But i wanted to avoid too many copy paste tanks into the tree like the R-35, H-35 into the main tree. Just like there could be many panzer 4,s and T-34 tank in there.

Though i dont mind them in the tree. since i wanted to prove that a Unique Eastern Europe tree could be made into the game. Even though the Intermarium is just a historical Concept Union from history and nothing more. Just like there are relevant historical concept tanks like the Tiger-2 105mm for Germany. or the Object 705 for USSR that i also don,t mind coming to game if the argument can be made for a proper representation ingame since i don,t mind them ingame and they serve a historical purpose! :)

Here is a fully built Yugoslav tree for reference. I'll see what more what I can dig up on Czechoslovak tanks.

Emh... It's not how it works since you would have Poland Hungary Czech and Finland, 3 Warsaw pact nation with a NATO nation, so nato and soviet vehicles and you would not make it possible to put it non a side at higher ranks. Romania yugo Bulgaria and Ukraine may be fine like Italy go with axis and at rank 4 goes with allies same would go for this tree, until rank 4 with Germany as historically, and after with ussr
