Very interesting tree!

Arguably the best contender for a Central-Asian country to get a tree.
Quite in favor of it, although unfortunately it wouldn't come paired with a good air tree to boot.

I'm not against the addition of an Iranian TT but I have some reservations due to several reasons mainly in relation to their Air TT more specifically their limited options in terms of aircraft to choose from

Personally if we really want a Middle Eastern TT to be a counterweight to the Israeli TT, an Egypto-Syrian (UAR) TT will be a better pick since at least they have a more comprehensive Air TT than Iran's thought they'll suffer from the same "Copy n Paste outside of modification of/minor differences from existing aircraft" problem as an Iranian Air TT would

The tree contains 6 vehicles that are functionally similar to western vehicles (US, Brazil, UK), 7 to Eastern (China, Russian) and 27 unique ones.

Perhaps a closer look into what the vehicles offer would be of worth instead of glancing at a picture once and drawing a conclusion

Was not aware Iran had so many unique vehicles. 
But so little is actually known about the vehicles. Especially regarding the Zulfiqars.  Just few spec-sheet-esque facts are known.
Also its still not clear what the final production version of Karrar be like (since it looks much different in recent photos from the earlier prototype). And as a result what's the actual difference between this current Karrar variant and a T-72 "upgraded to Karrar standard". Like the difference between T-72M1(2020) and Karrar is negligible. T-72M1(2020) looks just like the current Karrar, just without few ERA panels on either side of the gun mantlet.

Okay, so I haven't checked the thread for quite a long time because some of the replies were quite..... "spicy" to say the least.

 

I understand about the whole political stuff behind Iran, but I don't think that's the point of my proposal. We all know that almost every military hardware were made to kill the opposition, but War Thunder is not the game about politics, it's about military hardware.

 

I kind of understand the negative reaction behind the addition of Israel, partly because of it being incomplete and were mostly consisted of what many will call a "copy-paste". But many people has also mixing the political aspect into it as well.

 

If we were to exclude the military hardware from the game simply because of ideology, shouldn't the half of the German and Japanese tech tree, the PRC and early KMT part of the Chinese tree, and the Soviet/Russia tree be removed due to their "questionable" policy? Especially when some of the vehicle featured in-game were present in the "recent events" in Ukraine?

As much as I wanted to add this weird Puma-esque IFV, I can't find any info about its armaments other than 23 mm gun. So, if it doesn't have any ATGM, I can't really find a place to fit it. Although I guess they might considered fitting it with ATGM at some point.

Thanks for image.

From what I can gather, this is supposed to be an upgrade of the T-72M1 by the Ukranian contractors. This is ultimately rejected after evaluation though.

Well we already have two trees who's air is just copy paste to give the unique ground cas (China and Israel) so it doesn't seem like gaijin views that as too much of a problem.

Iran did have some indiginous and interesting helicopter, I might have made a suggestion about it later.

 

However, the air force part is admittedly lacking. Mainly because Iran only managed to built their own aircraft in 2010s (which is still mostly a reverse-engineered American plane), so the best I can do to make them less of a "copy-paste" is to give a "weapon switch" planes, like NATO planes with Russian/Chinese weapon system and vice-versa.

How many unique and implementable vehicles does Iran have if we consider the nation addable? Excluding reverse-engineered, copy, and imported / modified vehicles.

I still support this idea. I am most looking forward to an Iranian tech tree in some form in WT. The vehicles are unique, and Iran has a lot of drones and helicopters to pick from too. 

 

I have found some more vehicles which you can add to your suggestion. These used to be in my old Arab-Iranian tech tree suggestion, before it was removed. I would recommend including some more sources for each one; Gaijin has become more strict with suggestions since then. Some of them are sort of similar to the tanks already in this suggestion, so maybe some of these could be premium or event vehicles.

I think it would be interesting to see some "weapon switch" planes, like the Iranian F-14. Same with their ground vehicles.
