I agree and now that we are going to see the Magach 3, I think the chances of seeing a 105mm armed M48 for Germany is a lot higher than before, I would love to see it in the main tree maybe just before the bagelpanzer.

+1 Yes but as Event-Gift or as Premium Replacement for the lame Copy&Paste M47 Premium.

The M48 was modified with german gun.

The M47 (ingame as premium) is only copy&paste

why event/gift? this isn't a german IS-6 we're talking about. it's an M48A2 with native modifications.

what is the difference between the M48A2 and M48A2G? does the G literally just mean "German" or is at a designation code like M, A, E, etc.?

Pretty sure the G means German modifications ect. Even if just small like the grenades ect.

I'm all for an expanded German tech tree, given that German often has to face off against all other nations, Tanks like the German M48s and possible some Russian T-62s and T-55 would stand to significantly improve the German players experience whilst adding new dynamics to the game :-)

damn... as a former tank driver of an M48 A2GA2 I was starting to write a question to the developers when we would be able to see this tank in game and by coincidence I found your thread here :-)

 

It should be placed in the regular tree. The M48 A2GA2 was replaced by the Leopard 2 in the Feldheer (1st line units close to the inner german border) and was moved to the Heimatschutzbrigaden of the Territorialheer (home defense brigades, part of 2nd line units)...

This would work well at 8.3 as a compliment to the leo1a1a. It would have a better top shell but no stabilizer to assist and less mobility.

LOL. with DM23 it would be 8.3 at the bare minimum. this ain't the T-62 or T95E1 early APFSDS.
