Well IMO, thinking about the Obj. 279 is kinda like how it was with the E-100 before it was confirmed a prize tank.

 

Everyone thought it was going to be magnitudes more OP than the Maus and possibly even a match for MBTs with HEAT-FS and APFSDS. Now we know that's not the case (and many now say it deserves to be in the stock tree).

 

Objekt 279 with APDS/APCR would not be any more of a threat than if current MBTs ingame received APFSDS with 400-500mm penetration and would actually be on-par or less OP than composite/upgunned MBTs like M60AX, Chief. Mk.10, Leo 1A6, Kpz-Keiler/MBT-70/XM805, and T-64/72.

 

Basically I don't think it necessary has to be a premium some other of restricted distribution if there are other tanks to balance it from BR 8.7 to BR 10.0

The M-65 modified to fire APDS was never fitted to a tank.

Well whatever high-penning AP round it fired, just hopefully not HEAT-FS or anything like that's being shot from the T-10M.

i love play heavy tank, in era 5 late is not play this category anymore, with this you have a chance to compete with MBT and ATGM

I always asked myself why they doesn't ever invented an auto-bouncing tank using very low angle... Well they did, and **** it's ugly. 

But I'm pretty sure FV 4005 HESH would send this thing far away.

HESH in general should have no problem with 279. If I understand correctly it's "just" steal sheet on top of the hull used to increase the effective thickness against HEAT.
