Much as I'd like the Swfit in game I've got to be honest, the Hunter has always been the more elegant looking of the two in my eyes. Something about the swift just looks off to me, can't put my finger on it though.

Again, and as a navy guy I assume you will give the correct answer. Which is prettier the Hunter or the Scimitar?

Scimitar naturally... however between the Hunter and Swift I'll take the Hunter.  :)

That is the correct answer.

But all hail the Vulcan.

The Swift is more appealing to me, and I think Britain needs another top tier jet because only the Hunter is available right now :B10:

Update 24/2/2018

A lot more info added.

Some already-existing information corrected.

If anyone knows the combat weight of the Swift F.1, please let me know!

just played Snozzeltoff's Swift F.1 mod from a year and a half ago. https://live.warthunder.com/post/500832/en/

oh god please say the Swifts don't actually turn THAT badly.

I'm not sure. I don't remember how his Swift flies.  You can check the newly added wing loading statistics to make sure of it.

Hopefully it turns much faster because it seemed a bit sluggish.

1,062 kmh is the top speed but with normal load the ROC reached 62.5 m/s

a beast for once... let me laugh, British had the Spacefire, the Hunter is very good, the GriffonSpacefire is too ... please

But back to the topic :

This thing with 1060kph and above 60m/s climb would be a good 9.0

yeah but if you can slap a hammer & sickle on it and fool the devs it'll make for a fine 7.3!

  • 2 months later...

Need to list that the Swift can carry 2x 1,000lb bombs (it is in the manual... though I don't remember which page currently).

Also have sat in the cockpit of a Swift, was fairly comfortable though I am on the short side so might explain why I had decent amount of room.

I think if it were to be included it would have to be the F4 or FR5 version. The F1 and F2 were too problematic and unsuited to their role. Not so much of an issue in AB but certainly in RB and SB.

Besides, the FR5 could carry ground ordinance and could come with 79 Sqns markings, pretty neat.

I dont think its any secret that the Brits could do with some reinforcements at the higher levels. Swift, Seahawk, Scimtar and Javelin for me.

Eh, I honestly think all 4 could be in game. Have the Supermarine/Gloster line tier V go Meteor F.3/Sea Meteor (tabbed), Meteor F.4 LW/SW (tabbed), Meteor F.8, Swift F.1/F.2 (tabbed), Swift F.4, then have the Swift FR5 has the top tier. As much as I like the Javelin it's just too good. The FAA should go Attacker, Sea Hawk, Sea Venom, Scimitar. If you really want to push the odds you could try for the CAC Sabre, but that's probably too much as well. The RAF hasn't gotten a new jet in like 3 years or something, it's time for something to be done about that.
