I know, i was thinking, what is going to be the future of ground forces when there is no new things to add?

-Italy, Uk, france and usa has all their modern tanks that use today.

- japan has the type 10 and its done.

- china and sweden are incomplete.

- ussr can be completed with t90.

And then what??

Prototypes? -Gaijin don't want them.

New variants? - yes, but a lot of people don't like to research the same tank twice with no difference between them (Type 90b)

i think we will have submarines coming which will extend the shelf life of the game, they could streamline the game more, bring new lines in like logistics, infantry, proper artillery vehicles, they could also start to include naval helis, with anti ship missiles and sonar buoys etc, work on adding visually upgrades to tanks like WoT does.

Ranks 5/6/7 have been quite rushed for most nations so they'll probably flesh them out a bit I'd say.

That would be nice combined with some kind of open world like in Star Conflict. You can play random battles or go with your friends (if u have any) and do a Berlin-Moscow trip :lol2:

Imo that would be better than current WWM... Also, we need some new game modes for random battles.

Speaking of subs, they will be in their mini TT just like helicopters.

Tbh april fools event with them was boring after some time, but in normal game mode they can be a lot better than helis in ground battles. Especially those big french subs with artillery.

We still have naval tech-trees for France, Italy maybe China and Sweden. Helicopter trees for Italy, China and Sweden.

More heavy cruisers, Battleships and possibly even submarines.

Tanks are far from complete, a lot of stuff is still missing or able to be added: IFVs for a handfull of nations, wheeled vehicles, plenty of pre/WW2 equipment, more modern or different variants from already existing MBTs (Leopard 2 Revolution, Leclers S2, M1A1 SEP...)

Aircraft still have a lot to catch up. With the Mig-21 and F-4C plenty of aircraft in between have been skipped and there's still plenty to be added afterwards, like they said in a Q&A, Gen 4 fighters are very plausible

And should we run out of those, new nations in form of minor tech-trees can still be added (Israel, Yugoslavia,...) or vehicles of minor nations (North Korean vehiclee into China, South Korean into the US or Japan...)

Plenty of miscellaneous stuff and game mechanics (graphical updates, sound updates; Active Protection System, etc)

With Swededish tanks in the next update I still think we're far away from a possible "End" of War Thunder

More modern features for toptier vehicles so MBT's actually feel like they are from these past decades and aren't about 60+ years out of date in how they play. Shake up how they play a bit and continue to flesh out the trees. Perhaps cast a wider net for more countries vehicles to be included in the game.

And as has been said there's still air to be done and there's still naval.

I'm only talking about ground forces. MBTs ,not mechanics. I know that there is so much to add in terms of mechanics but not so many machines left, plus we don't see gaijin adding or filling holes in nations since their introduction in terms of

Low tier/mid tier WW2 and cold war, for example japan, france or italy, because the main porpuse now is top tier.

What is the point of researching a tank that has little difference with the previous version? For me is not worth it, is just an obstacle. That's why variants should be in brackets and not in a straight line.

-In my case japan is the nation that i most research and the Type 90(b) is not worth the grind of 400k RP and the only difference with the Type 90 is a 10mm plate in the lower body. The Type 90(b) needs to be in a bracket.

-Same goes for the M60A1 and his variants, M1IP, Tiger E, T-34 (D5T), Cromwell V, Churchill III/ VII, Chi-To Late, and a lot of machines. All the tanks that i mentioned are not in brackets, they are just obstacles for grinding to the top, because is the same tank. Sure, it might change the cannon, armor, size. But in terms of progression are useless. Just one more obstacle for the top. Brackets would save the grind but i think that is not going to happen.

Are you familiar with the concept of lineups...?

To avoid further confusion, here are the ones from Target's list that are not greyed out. I left these out from my initial list, as I only wanted to complement his, and not overwrite it.

I have added them all. Apart from some of the unnecessary skins.

There are many more T-72, T-90, Leopard 2 and Abrams variants that can be added in folders.

T-72B, T-72B3, T-90, T-90A, T-90M, T-90MS, T-14, M1A1HA, M1A2 SEP (which is what we actually have ingame but whatever), M1A2 SEP V.2, M1A2C, Leopard 2A0, Leopard 2A1, Leopard 2A2, Leopard 2A3, Leopard 2A4B, Leopard 2A6, Leopard 2A7, Leopard 2A7+... also, there are 2 Type 10 variants (44 and 48 ton), there are more Challenger 2s: Challenger 2 Rheinmetall, Challenger 2 TES Megatron, Challenger 2 LEP, at least two more and better Leclerc variants...

Very nice thank you :)

One small missing vehicle is the French H-75A-3 that can be seen here under the designation H-75-C1-V with 2 variants if you scroll down a bit :

There is no H-75A-3 in game yet.

Its not like they dont want them, its more of "some weird vehicles are too hard to balancing" especially when at certain BRs there is a premium meta.

Just folder them.

Maybe then they'll focus on making the game good?

I can't agree more. Tbh they should do that at least one time every two updates.

I dont think navy is going to go far with the current playerbase as world of warships has a current monopoly on it. The queue time on rb is horrible Submarines might work tho.

Most of the tanks will be foldered and might result in a 5-7 new vechiles. Tbh, adding any new tanks wound not change the game play at top tier beside them adding Aps. Armor would still not matter because all you have to do is shoot the breach.

the 2a4 in game is a b model so they would need to add the c variant.

That's what i thought... until new armor schematics with official sourced information showed that ingame Leopard 2A4 has...

Well, what we have ingame is not C nor B, it's a Frankenstein tank.

Currently ingame Leopard 2A4 has C turret values while it has B glacis. So... bruh. Since the model corresponds to the C tech, Gaijin should:

-Give DM33 to Leopard 2A4.

-Fix the glacis armor values by giving it the same values as Leopard 2A5 (C tech armor, just like the turret)

-Add Leopard 2A4B (Early), with DM23 and B tech armor, which is 350-380mm KE on the turret and the 285mm KE on the glacis current Leopard 2A4 ingame has.

maybe, but is definitely enough for  project 9910(10.0) and ztz99 Gen 2(10.3)

That's what i mean, it's impossible that the Swedish get their top tier MBT (STRV 122) before China (ZTZ-99).

Furthermore, Gaijin has the bad habit of releasing Ground trees without top tiers, so Swedish tech tree will get up to 8.0 or 9.0 or somewhere amongst those lines. (Maybe 10.0 with STRV 121)
